Hello, Does anyone know if this plugin can be adapter to create a new icon (option) in the main screen to gain access to the "sort by folder"? That way I can put a picture of my wife so she can navigate directally to the local drive and I can use the box as it was originally intended? Thanks

yes this can also be done by adding an extra menu entry to the main menu:
Code: Select all
traceln("Start loading MyFolders Plugin");
function MyFoldersPlugin(path) {
    this.rootPath = path;

MyFoldersPlugin.prototype = new Plugin()
MyFoldersPlugin.prototype.constructor = MyFoldersPlugin;

MyFoldersPlugin.prototype.doBuildMenus = function() {
    var folders = Menu.Top["$$Video"]["$$Local Drives"]["$$Folders"];

MyFoldersPlugin.instance = new MyFoldersPlugin(scriptPath)
traceln("End loading MyFolders Plugin");

I had a look at your problem and it seems it's not that easy to solve... :?
Best i could acomplish is either replace $$Videos completely with something else or submenu but was not able to keep the old structure as a new menu item...
Or it is possible to just add your new menu without having it the default one. (i guess you already figured that out.. :lol: )
I will try one or two other approaches but it's really a tough one :mrgreen:

Markster, sorry for not being clear enough.
My guess was that you have to copy the child menu entries of the $$Video top menu to your new menu and set the handler to null so that the OSD actually goes into the sub menu if you activate it.
Something like
Code: Select all
var nextMenu = Menu.Top["$$Video"].firstChild;
while(nextMenu != null)
   nextMenu =;
Menu.Top.Movies.handler = null;

I did not test it, so be prepared. ;)

Thanks Kiefermat for the suggestion, unfortunately it causes an endless loop\OSD crash (not sure which one - didn't really look into it much).

I understand why my original code doesn't work, just don't know how to capture the current menu flow and copy it.

For now I am focused on other MovieSheet+ items and will come back to this in the near future. If anyone has some pointers in the meantime, that would be great!

Guys, any suggestion how to move the UMSP menu item to top level?

Sorry to resurrect this old thread.

I had to turn on Media Library for MediaFolder to work, which is fine when it comes to Videos. Unfortunately it also effects Photos and Music.

What I'd like to do is pair down the Music section to only Folders and Pandora. Otherwise my local music is a blehhh to find. Not sure why MediaFolder displays Movies under Music. Seems like a bug to me.
