I went to the new 1.05.04_B firmware and loved the new Netflix GUI format. But had to roll back due to the bugs it had. I know this is probably a stupid question. But who knows... Is there any way to update just the netflix app to show the new improved GUI?

This was exactly the case, all the internet apps are now in the internet apps menu item!

I do like the added apps, and the new netflix interface. So far, everything is running very well. Everyonce and a while the unit completely freezes, where I have to remove the power plug and then plug it back in, but this was an issue I was having with the unit with the old firmware as well, so I do not know if it is a hardware or software thing...

Great job with the newest firmware, thank you!

Regarding the freezes:
This may be a thermal issue, make sure there's enough airflow around the device and don't place things on top of it.

It might also be a uPnP pollution problem, eg. Virgin Superhub is known to cause this this default settings. (http://wiki.wdlxtv.com/Superhub)
To verify if this is the case, disconnect the network from WDTV and watch some movies...
If it doesn't freeze without network connection it might be a uPnP pollution problem.

a while back when I was messing with dmaosd I was able to run dmaosd from telnet and see the debug out put in the telnet window and I found out that netflix makes use of adobe flash and when brosing the firmware there is netflix floders and oauth folder and they contain swf files. if the flash player has not been modified in the 1.05.04 firmware, you might be able to copy the new netflix into the older firmware.

the use of adobe flash explains why you can cause bugs to happen when you launch netflix and play a media file at the same time via the use of a upnp streaming app.

I have tried multiple times multiple ways and I cannot get the WDTVLIVE Pluse (Gen 3) to recognize the upgrade. What am I doing wrong?

I kept getting the message "you have reached the maximum number of downloads for this hour" - and even though it wouldn't let me download it all day yesterday, I got the same message this morning and it started to download anyway. Thanks for investigating.
