WDTVhack password recovery tool

Well I tried this tool and all it did was make my webend unaccessable. Now I can't connect through telnet or the webend.
I tried adding the rm /tmp/conf line, but that didn't seem to work either.

Any help guys?

Removing the whole /conf folder will remove *ALL* your WDTV configuration. Go back to the OSD, and reconfigure your network as a starting point.

RMerlin - I've had the same thing happen now and I'm locked out of webend and FTP. How do I delete the /conf directory if I can't get into either interface?

I should also point out that I started down this road after installing 1.03.49_B-WDLXTV-Plus-0.4.7.3 [flash] and my FTP password would not work anymore... but I could get into webend. Now I'm locked out of both.

Update: I was able to use Telnet and log-in to change the FTP password. However, I still can't get into webend. Since I'm in FTP I deleted the /conf directory as suggested, but it did not fix the problem... or even wipe out my network config or custom wallpaper.

to restore webend login to default execute this in telnet:

rm /conf/htpasswd
config_tool -s && config_tool -s && reboot

You probably rebooted too fast after erasing the files so the changed wasn't written to flash yet.

The ftp file/link seems to be dead. Anyone have a backup of this file they can put up? Thanks!

UPDATE: Was able to get to the file by changing the link a bit.

hi folks,

sry for pushing this thread.

i flashed the latest wdlxtv 0.5.1.1 and i logged into the webfronted with wdlxtv:wdlxtv
then i changed the pw to something with $, ! and :

since then i wasn't able to login successfully.

i did:
- pluged in a stick with wdtvhack (and afterwards i logged in successfully with wdlxtv:hackme on ssh)
- rm /conf/htpasswd but then i receive this:

i did factory reset and i reflashed the firmware twice.
but i still can't login with wdlxtv:wdlxtv on webinterface

i did this, too:

sudo htpasswd -c wdlxtv WDLXTV-Webend
and changed pw to "123456" but i can't login :/
