Loading custom kernel

Have a question about devices internals, memory layout, reverse engineering, etc---This is the place for anything so technical that it would cause a n00b's head to 'splode

Hi,

I just got a TTL-serial cable going & I'm wondering a few things..

First, how did you break into YAMON in order to netboot? I've tried ^C, ^Y, etc. It may be that I'm just not fast enough..

Next, any progress on either kexec, or tricking it to boot an unencrypted kernel from flash?

Last, dmesg talks about a SATA port. When I opened the box to install the TTL/Serial cable, I noticed another, smaller 4-pin header right next to the heatsink (in addition to the serial header along the edge of the board). Is that second header for SATA?

No. As far as I know there's always some problems when trying to boot a different (unsigned) kernel.
