new version of "Debian on the WD TV Live"?

Postby bschmidt » Sat Nov 12, 2011 10:56 am

Hi there,

will there be a more current version of debian in root.bin "Debian on the WD TV Live" (http://b-rad.cc/1058/debian-on-wdtv-live/) available some time? ("Debian Squeeze")

I tried the old version and upgrading it using "apt-get dist-upgrade" but this rendered the system unusable...

Thanks!

1. Stop bumping your threads just because you don't get a fast reply.

2. No there isn't, there is a debian squeeze image around which some of the devs use for compiling on WDTV:
http://forum.wdlxtv.com/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=494
But it's a chroot image, you can't really boot into this image.
This is nice for native compiling on WDTV but if you need kernel sources or if you want to compile kernel modules I prefer cross-compiling using WD toolchain.
