flash won't start

Hi, I have a WDTV live Plus and i try to flash it up to use the Rtorrent features without a computer need.

1- i have downloaded this flash : 1.05.04_B_WDLXTV.COM_WDLXTV_PLUS-0.5.1.1
2- I have formated my usb stick 8 gig in fat 32
3- I have put this file in the stick : wdtvlive2.bin : wdtvlive2.fff : wdtvlive2
4- I have plug off power of my wdtv live plus
5- I have plug in the usb stick
6- I have plug in power on of my wdtv live plus

But the wdtv live plus boot as usual. it not see my memory stick and files on it.
So i can't flahs it..

Do i need to do something else to boot the file?

Open the *.ver file with notepad of another editor. Change the version number in the file to something greater than what you already have on the WDTV.

Hi, when i open the .ver file with notepad i have nothing. it seems to be an empty file. The file size is 1kb. Any suggestions? I thank you once again for your help.
