Grrr. After crawling the web for 2 hours, I've try to check the previous versions of ThumbGen. And success!

Only the latest one (1.2.8) not sees network drives! The versions 1.2.7 and 1.2.5.4 still work fine. I've just tried these.

Please fix this bug in the latest one.

Correction: If I copy the old version over my preferred installed version, even the old ones get wrong. So I came to a conclusion, that this must be something with the configuration file. Finally, I've managed the case, by removing the Run As Administrator mode from this executable. Now the latest version works well also! Sorry for dramatic posting. ;)

I have no problems with either Windows or Samba shares that are mapped as drives.

As far as I remember this is a rights issue. Try to make the mapped drive available for all (Everyone access...)

Hi
Great program. I'm still tinkering. Interesting note, I too was unable to see network shares that were mapped using version 1.2.9.1. I checked all permissions. The only thing that worked for me was to delete thumgen and reinstall ver 1.2.7.1
Not sure why this worked...

Hm, good hint... I should compare the two versions and see what's changed in that area.

The problem is related to the collocation of thumbgen. If it is on the desktop, it works fine always. But if it is located in the "program files" directory, it doesn't detect share, unless it is executed without "as administrator". But in this case I get an error on close.

Just tested again to 3 different shares, 2 x Samba shares on different Media Players, 1 x Share on another Win 7 Ultimate machine, all mapped as drive letters.

Works perfectly, no Administrator issues, etc.
