Is it feasible?

I'm asking for a friend....

He's opening a Gym. He wants to have some big flatscreens all around, all showing the same movie.
He then wants "something" that, at intervals, add scrolling text over the movie (such as special offers, weekly training events, and so on). He also wants to be able to change the scrolling text on the fly (so no, the text cannot be encoded with the playing movie).

I wonder if a WDTV (or more of them) could do the job... but i'm not so found on streaming (HD) videos to multiple clients, all the app available for the WDTV and so on... so, do you think it could be done?
