Hi all its my first post!!!

I have a WDTV plus with WDLXTV working very good, but e have tried to install on my new WDTV live plus, but it do not reconize the update,i have tried to change ver file, to change pendrive, format with hp utility, and nothing.

i found in forum something about WDTV latin models, my WDTV version is 1.06.20_L and model version is WDBREC0000NBK.

i found this on wiki:

Compatibility
Supported devices are:
WDTV Gen 1 (Model number WDAVN00BN, WDAVP00BE, WDAVN00BS, WDAVP00BS, WDAVP00BP)
WDTV Gen 2 (Model number WDBABF0000NBK)
WDTV Live (Model number WDBAAN0000NBK, WDBAAP0000NBK)
WDTV Live Plus (Model number WDBABX0000NBK, WDBREC0000NBK, WDBG3A0000NBK)

my question is my model is supported or not?

THX TO ALL ;

first off, do you have a latin america version? if yes it's not supported, although, I'm surprised if the model number is actually the same
if it is, I guess we'll have to update the wiki

second, do NOT use the hp format tool, it creates an incompatible partition

Thats is a question, I'm from Brazil and bought the WDTV plus live here, like i show to you, however I bought the live WDTV and that works seamlessly with WDLXTV.
Now what makes me confused and that the wiki says it is supported ,however update version indicates that is the crap Latin version!

if your plus is already running WDLXTV it is not a latin american version

also 1.05.04 WDLXTV 5.1.1 is the most current publicly available version

anything else like 1.06.20_L would be a WD firmware

also the firmwares are not cross compatible

you can not flash 1.06.20_L to a plus that is not a latin american version
this is also true of official firmwares

I am runnig 5.1.1 in my WD TV Live Plus.My TV supports 1080p, but the EDID has 720p(i guess) because when I set the resolution to default in my wd tv live plus, the resolution is set to 720p. I wanted to use the autores function for setting the framerate, without disturbing my set resolution of 1080p. If I execute "config_tool -c AUTORES=ON" from telnet prompt, will it affect my resolution? If i set resolution of 1080p and execute "config_tool -c FORCEHDMI=ON", will it fix my resolution to 1080p whenever I reboot?

there's no autores for the plus, only WD's built in version that is enabled/disabled in osd

My version is supported, yet I can't install the alternative firmware. It's driving me nuts!

I am also having trouble installing the 1.05.04_B firmware. I've spent a lot of time trying and was trying to avoid asking for help but I'm stuck.

I'm using a WDTV Live Plus Model WBBABX with official firmware 1.06.16_B. I've downloaded the 1.05.04B (flash) file and extracted the .fff, .ver, and .bin files directly onto a thumbdrive (no folder). Next I used notepad to change the .ver file to 1.06.17_B inside notepad. I saved the file then changed the extension back to .ver. When I insert the thumb into the WD it does not seem to recognize that new firmware is available. I've tried to unplug the power with the thumbdrive in the WB. When it reboots, it simply goes back to the home page and does not install. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
