Guys,
I want to update my unit to 0.5.1.1, before that would like to know if are there some advantages/feature of latest official stock firmware over 0.5.1.1?

I mean that one
Release 1.06.16 (8/2/2011) from WD.
Is anything good in official release what is missing in 0.5.1.1 or why I may want to keep sock and refrain from using unofficial?

The biggest thing is 1.06.16 added Hulu Plus. If you need Hulu Plus, then stay with the stock firmware.

I am very much looking forward to a WDLXTV version that can guarantee 3TB HDD support. For me though, I am holding off on upgrading to a 3TB drive and am using WDLXTV version 1.03.49 based off the WD 0.4.7.3 firmware. It is worth the wait because the other features and customizability offered by WDLXTV makes it vastly superior to what is offered by stock firmware versions.
