Hello all.

I use the 1.02.21 WDLXTV 5.1.1.
Now i wanna set this mod to my wdtv.
What must i do? Must i do on USB Stick and leave it in the WDTV or could i unplug it after rebooting?
Must i set new folders for Media mark or MNV4? Some say yes and some no (other forums).
Im a little bit confused what it is in this version.

Sorry for stupid questions... im a WDTV Noob!

best greetings
Newbi

what you do depends on what you're using

the thread your posting in is a packag deal, zmiki nicely packaged various features for you, you flash the firmware from this thread and it includes the pscythc osd mod and MV4
without the need for a usb stick

the normal versions of the osd mod and mv4 would have needed a usb stick

as for having to reset your folders etc, I guess that depends on how zmiki set it up, but I'd guess you could copy your media mark database and put in /conf for use with this mod

well the noob way would be just to set it up fresh, to put it in /conf at minimum you'll need an ftp client

and it's not particularly the best idea to store stuff in /conf anyways
/conf has very limited space and if it's overfilled, the result is everything gets wiped and set to default
although that's the only place I can think that zmiki would have put it in this mod

maybe somebody that uses this mod can confirm
is the database stored in /conf ?
if yes, it shouldn't hurt to simple replace it with the old data base

Media mark is plugin that is included in normal version of 1.02 b-rad firmware and also in mine mod. it writes database in /tmp so if you reboot you lose it. From WEC you can set the directory for mediaMark.log file to any writeable location (usb or network disk or /tmp/conf). If this file does not exist in new location it will be created. So if you used media mark plugin and have mediaMark.log if you change the location for file you can copy your old file to new location and it will be used and you wont lose your log.
hope that helps

ok, makes sense

@wdtv-newbi,

so you decide what you'd like to do, but I'd recommend either a writable network share for your media mark database or a thumbdrive/hdd so that you don't loose that database on each reboot
