Hi jumbalaya, I was taking a look at this issue with youtube and mediafly progress bars, it seems to me that slideshow_player_time_played_line_mark.png does not contain a valid image (a round mark or something). Probably the pb_front_image should show loading progress (as it appears to be right now) and pb_point_image (slideshow_player_time_played_line_mark.png) should show playing progress. What do you think about this?

Appart from that (not related to this problem) I also noticed that there are two image files medaifly_option_menu_fram_x5.png and medaifly_option_menu_fram_x7.png whose names seem to be mispelled, I do not know if this has any consequence to the system.

I honestly don't think the images themselves have anything to do with this issue. if i recall correctly, it worked the same way with the stock osd. i'm not sure why.
If you look around in the osd, there are misspellings all over the place. i haven't noticed any issue with anything as a side effect from this though.

Regarding the slideshow_player_time_played_line_mark.png image, I checked that in the standard osd there is a valid image and it is shown while playing youtube contents. I could test my idea myself by replacing this image file but I cannot do that because the osd/image directory is read-only. Do you know how can I make this simple test?

Either use an ext3 firmware (which has the files writable), or mount a new file on top of it:

mount -o bind /tmp/mnt/xxxx-xxxx/newfile.png /osd/slideshow_player_time_played_line_mark.png

@jumbalaya if I copy the slideshow_player_time_played_line_mark.png from osd/image to the alternate directory and mount the image from there the progress bar also works, strange as it sounds but it works.

How can I make this change permanent so it will not be lost after reboot?

Yes, and if I just copy the original image from osd/image to the hard drive root and mount it from there it works, I cannot understand why

I have to find out how to mount the image always after reboot to make the change more permanent.

the image might be a cramfs (read only) that would explain why you can't directly just replace the image
even if it's not cramfs, there are some scripts like linksheets that remounts /osd as read only

to do it at boot, S99user-script with your mount -o bind .....
