I always try to eject the drive but I had instances where it would freeze during the drive the ejection but I haven't had that problem for awhile.

The next WDLXTV version will have a newer version of the filesystem checker, so that should resolve the issue. Booting will take a while as the whole drive will be checked, but it should eventually mount then.

I flashed back to 1.03.49_B-WDLXTV-Plus-0.4.7.3 so I could use the fakeusb.app but I'm just going to make the share a CIFS share on my Linux server and try cifsinterceptor on 1.05.04. Just didn't want to have a thumb drive always plugged in, especially to see a network share :P

cifs-interceptor is for browsing NFS shares via Network Shares by intercepting the CIFS connection...

http://wiki.wdlxtv.com/How_to_setup_CIFS_Interceptor

I read this already however doesn't there have to be a CIFS connection? I have it as an NFS share off of a machine but it doesn't say it mounts an NFS mount, xmount will do that but I can't browse it unless I use fakeusb or unless I plug a usb drive in. So instead of it just being an NFS mount I created the mountpoint/share as a CIFS share as well. There is no CIFS connection on a standard NFS share.

if I remember correctly there does have to be a cifs share, best bet is follow the wiki

the idea is the cifs share gets picked up and displayed by WD, then cifs interceptor, takes the nfs share and displays it under the cifs entry on screen

In your changelog you say:

** WDLXTV-PLUS DOES NOT SUPPORT 3TB HDD'S!!!! Tell WD you want this fixed (with netflix too)!!!
**** The GPL wdtvlive2.fff is 6mo old and lacks support for 3TB hdd's + it deletes netflix keys!
**** Email WD and tell them you want Netflix + WDLXTV + 3TB hdd support

Does that mean Netflix will not work at all on this firmware at all, or only if I am using a 3TB drive?

I used that firmware you gave me the other day and now I can't watch Netflix (with a 500GB drive). I don't know if this is because of the firmware or because I updated to 1.05.04 0.5.1.1.

Netflix will load, I can select a movie and the progress bar will get to 100%, but then it just sits there and never plays the movie.

If I downgrade to 1.03.49 will I be able to use Netflix?

Thanks for the kick-ass releases!

they had to choose between netflix support or > 2TB support
we choose netflix, since I dont' have a plus maybe somebody else can comment,

but if I remember correct WD changed something about the way WD interacts with netflix, some people had to re-register their device etc to get netflix to work

Well I had to log back in, but I didn't have to re-activate it.

I will try booting without my HDD plugged in to see if maybe something on there is causing the problem. The only thing on the HDD is avi files, opt.bin, and a 512MB .swapfile.

I will also try downgrading to see if that fixes the problem. Hopefully its not the firmware because I really need the swapfile.

The fff included in the release is netflix safe. it is NOT 3TB safe, however That is what the note is there for. The note is there because the GPL fff that WD provides is super old, prevents netflix activation, and has no 3TB support. It is essentially 115% worthless. Netflix works perfectly fine with the fff I told you to download, I use it and I watch netflix almost daily. All I can suggest is wiping /conf and rebooting, which I think you probably already have done.

hate to beat a dead horse, but I still don't have netflix working. I've upgraded to this release but other posts are saying to get it working i have to upgrade to an official release, toast the config, re-sign in, and it should work ... the flash this release again and I should be good to go? For me netflix wont even launch I just get a black screen and no option to re-register etc.

I could just go try a few random things and see what happens I just dont have a ton of time to monkey around right now so I was hoping someone here would know what I need to do to get this working again. Thanks guys!

With b-rad's help I finally got it working this morning. I had to do just as you described, download the official FW, flash it, play Netflix for a few minutes, then flash wdlxtv again. Everything worked after that.

I'm going to try this now. Does WD just have a repo of their code or did you find the files to flash somewhere else? ... I'll go looking around now
EDIT: 3 seconds I found it lol ... ok off and running soon here (thanks again everyone, will post successes etc)
