hey guys noob alert here... i'm having the same problem, i can't flash b'rads custom firmware in my wdtvlive im currently using the latest firmware 1.06.15V iv been following the thread here but it seems nothings working for me..i tried changing the version to 1.08.15 but it still won't flash, tried changing the ver about 5 times but it still won't flash. Sorry guys im really a noob hope you guys can help me out...

your custom firmware sir also tried what you said in the read me file "if new firmware is not recognized open wdtvlive.ver and change VERSION to higher release

probably you should change to

VERSION='1.20.04.WDLXTV_PLUS-0.4.7.3'

after doing a hard reboot 'its still not flashing.. Im sure im missing something here..

Live is not the same device as Live Plus... You said you were running a Live firmware before, but you are trying to flash a Live Plus firmware. Download a Live firmware instead.

So is it normal during the flashing process for the flashing page to display and then run to 20% and then reboot? I am rebooting at 20% and then it just sits there with the flash drive light blinking like there is activity going on but it has been over an hour and nothing. BTW I am using WDTV Live and 0.4.7.3 (flash) based on the 1.02.21 base.

Thanks for the help... Hope I didn't miss this info in my searching. Sounds like it should only take a few minutes. Does it all happen at the flash screen? ie the meter goes all the way to 100% before rebooting itself?

Yes of course it is supoposed to go to 100% before rebooting otherwise there is something wrong with the files on your USB drive or the drive itself.

Bit of a disappointment. Have been running perfectly for months. Decided to upgrade to 1.05.04 LIVE 0.5.1.0. Flashed official firmware fine. When it came to WDLXTV seemed to go well. Got the UPDATING FIRMWARE Your HD Media Player is being WDLXTV'd. Please DO NOT disconnect power or the attached storage message. Got the scale incrementing as expected..right up to 100%. Then the rebooting message. The the dreaded "Insert a USB drive with firmware to recover your WDTV" in many languages message. This cycle just repeats over and over again. Have I done something wrong. Tried all the usual things eg change flash drive..reformat flash drive etc eventually had to revert back. I guess I'll have to put up with manually setting res. which is all I wanted to change really.

You are also a bit of a disapointment... because you it seems you haven't read the thread where you downloaded that firmware version.

The first version was a little bit too big so it wouldn't fit into the flash, this leads to the described problem.
b-rad already corrected this and uploaded a fixed firmware, so go back and re-download it then try again.
