WDTVExt and WDLXTV 0.4.5.3

Postby Blackwindow » Sun Feb 13, 2011 10:19 am

Hello,

I've been searching the web for an answer to this question for some time:

Is it possible to use WDTVExt plugins with WDLXTV 0.4.5.3 or not?
And if it is possible, how?

The readme file includes these tow lines:
* WDTVExt dynamic OSD modification software (pibos) (wdlxtv-live)
* WDTVExt plugin manager & updater (recliq) (wdlxtv-live)

What does that mean?

Hoping for an answer

Yes I did and I understood that WDTVExt was a feature for FW 1.0.2, but then I installed WDLXTV today and saw these two lines in the README...

As explained in the FAQ... A complete Firmware version has two numeric components:

- The BaseFW version (1.02.21, 1.03.49, etc...)
- The WDLXTV version (0.4.5.3)

WDTVExt is only available on firmwares that have a BaseFW version of 1.02. The WDLXTV version itself is irrelevant.

If you do have a supported firmware, then you should see a WDTVExt icon right on your TV screen, from where you can download and enable plugins.

Any developement works in progress for porting it to newer versions of wdlxtvs?
I can see WDTVEXT features and EXT plugins tabs in the front end.So I hope something will soon come.

thats so sad.
I was getting used to the media navigator,do something, download subtitles with a click--- features.

Now,I've to decide between, mp4 audio delay(which was fixed in latest FW) or WDTVEXT. I think need to go back to older one,for more benefits.

Or ,do we have something equivalent for media navigator and subtitle down loader in the new FW?

What is going to be really sad is B-rad and others will have to move on with the newer box and we will have to be happy with what they have given us.

My thanks to the team for what I consider Hands Down the best Media Player out there for the price.

You can't get better unless you pay more. Looks like its time to swing into BB to checkout the GoogleBox
I can't see buying the Plus just to get Netflix and not score the multitude of things given by b-rad.

My system - WDLXTV Live 1.02.21/.4.5.3
Ethernet Connected
7 Port HUB
3 FreeAgent Drives (1TB)
3 FreeAgent Drives (500 GB)

Running Seeds in Rtorrents for TV shows with CollectorZ

Even with all that, I watch more than I can each sitting.

Wait, so what is the latest WDLXTV firmware that supports WDTVExt plugins? I had 0.4.2.1 working, but then upgraded to 0.4.3.5 and lost it.
What should I downgrade to in order to get the plugins to work? Thanks :)
