2. by flashing that particular osd f/w [if thats what its called im new to this] do i have to have any particular bin files on my 2gb flash drive.
3. I already know how to use the actual program thumbgen awesome btw but i cant see the movie sheets at all is this because i need a wired or wireless usb adaptor to ssh into the drive and configure something
4. i don't have any of the latter the wireless adapters i do have i don't believe they are compatible
5. I'm at a complete lost as to what is next i havent slept belive it or not :D have been sort of obsessed with getting this to work, can somebody help me out step by step with some details so i dont get lost along the way tvixie has proven to be a migrane theres no getting over. I'm hoping to succeed with thumbgen with your help :ugeek:

so first let me confirm that you have a gen1 wdtv?

it's been quite some time since I did anything with gen1
2. the OSD you flashed is just that, only the on screen display, if memory serves me you will need an additional app.bin on a flash drive to have moviesheets on gen1- back in the day I used laurentg.app.bin and with all my movies in separate folders sheets were named wd_tv.jpg

I have a question regarding making Playlists.

If my mount line is : xmount "//192.168.0.102/Movies" "Folder1" cifs

What would be the correct thing to enter in the playlist location in thumbgen?

In other words what is the path that would direct the playlist files correctly?

Hi!

Is there a switch or option to process new movies/episodes only? With 'new' I mean video-files without Metadata/Sheets/Thumbs.

Thanks!

Use the filter available in FilesBrowser. It will filter based on your criteria and just the filtered files will be used for processing.

Ah, thanks! Is there a reason for the missing "without Metadata" filter?

re: using filters in TG.

Hi Everyone
I have 2 directories with avi's in each. I used TG to generate metadata, thumbs and moviesheets. I checked the 2 directories and TG has created all files ok. The only thing is in TG 'Process files/folders' section, one folder shows icons which indicate a moviesheet, metadata and nfo files have been created (this is perfect). However the other folder only shows metadata and nfo files (even though the MS exist). This then causes the filters not to behave as i tick box 'without moviesheet', those movies which already have MS still show.
Any tips ?
Many thanks.

Something finally clicked. My laptop had been generating sheets over night and TG had crashed with 'not enough virtual memory..' [its an old laptop]. Anyway, somehow a TG setting had changed the setting where it puts the MS. Anyway, changed it back and all ok !

Here is what I want:

I fill the information about the first episode from a season, and then all the next episodes use those infos that I used on the first ep.

Is there any way to do that? Kind boring to fill/change infos in every single ep.

Sorry about the bad english and thanks a lot buddies. ThumbGen is amazing.

That's not possible. Use a season template for the episode and u will get for each episode sheet the info about the season automatically.
