Hi there anterashot, although the WDTV Live supports a central moviesheet repository MSG+ does not support it yet, It is on the Top of the TODO list though, I try to add features as and when they are requested, I'll probably have it implemented in a day or so.

:roll: Thanks. Cause out of all the programs that create the sheets I liked MSG the most. Good work :)

There's a new version available that now includes support for a central moviesheet repository, the links are in the first post. to use the central moviesheet repository you need to enable the option in wdlxtv, then in MSG+ you need to enable the option "Save sheets to Central Repository", and select the central repository folder you configured.

This will still create the folder.jpg file in the movie folder to support movie thumbs, if you want to keep your folders completely clean, i.e. have not folder.jpg or moviename.jpg for thumbs in the folders then disable the "Save movie file poster" and "Create Thumbs" options.

I am using the WD_Original Look Sheet Template and keep getting a faint Blu Ray CD case within the Thumbnail on the left of the sheet. Is this to do with the template or is it the tumbnail choice below the sheet template choice. I have chosen other sheet templates and get the same result.

Hi there dlgonzo, it seems to be an issue with the template itself.

if you open the template.xml file look for a section that reads

Code: Select all
<ImageElement Name="CoverShine" X="64" Y="74" Width="260" Height="330" Source="File" Offset="0" MultiPageIndex="-1" SourceData="%PATH%\..\Common\Images\covershine.png" NullImageUrl="">
        <Actions>
          <RoundCorners BorderColor="-16728065" BorderWidth="0" Roundness="15" Corners="TopRight" />
          <PerspectiveView Angle="50" Orientation="RightToLeft" />
          <Rotate Angle="0" InterpolationMode="HighQualityBicubic" />
          <AdjustOpacity Opacity="40" />
          <Skew Angle="7" ConstrainProportions="False" Orientation="Vertical" Type="Parallelogram" />
        </Actions>
</ImageElement>

and delete it.

Thank you belatu that worked perfectly. Nice of you to take the time to help me. I do have one more situation. I am running your program on my iMac via Bootcamp (Windows 7) and have read only access to my Movie folder (Mac HFS Partition)while processing the movies with your program. The Central Repository option for the movie sheets works great for me for this reason. I choose a directory on my windows partition and generate the sheets then when finished processing I restart on the Mac side and copy all my movie sheets to my movies folder. The thumbs are a different matter as they always are written to the same directory as the video files. In my situation this does not help as it just errors and is not written as my access to that directory while in windows is read only. If I was able to designate an alternative directory for the thumbs, I could generate the thumbs as well and copy them over afterwards like I do the movie sheets. As it is I have to look up, download and resize the thumbs one at a time. I know that most people do not have this problem and my situation is probably very unique so I would understand if you felt no need to alter your program. I use your program because your user interface is very nice and intuitive and very easy to figure out. It is a very nice piece of software. Thank you for taking the time and making the effort to give us an alternative movie sheets program.

Hi dlgonzo,

I'm sure I can do something about that, give me a day or so and I'll see what I can come up with.

You are one in a million, belatu. I was looking at the options for the poster and thumb and I don't know if I would be using the create thumbs or the save poster option. I looks more like the poster as I have never used thumb templates yet. I guess if I was able to save either to an alternative directory I could try both and use which ever works out best. Thanks again for your help and attention. The world needs more developers like you.

I've implemented an option called Shadow Folder Structure in essence this will create a carbon copy of your media folders structure in the central repository location, as you create movie sheets. All your sheets, thumbs etc will then be created in the Shadow copy of the relevant folder, you can then copy entire structure over your existing folders and merge the new sheets etc with the folders where your media files are stored in.

i.e.

Media Drive.

L:\
|___Media
| |___Movies
| |_____Movie1
| |______movie1.mkv
| |_____Movie2
| |______movie2.avi
| |_____Movie3
| |______movie3.mkv

Shadow folder Location

C:\
|__Users
| |___User1
| |_____Documents
| |______My Shadow Folder
| |_______ Media
| |________Movies
| |___________Movie1
| |____________folder.jpg
| |____________folder_sheet.jpg
| |____________movie1.mkv_sheet.jpg
| |___________Movie2
| |____________folder.jpg
| |____________folder_sheet.jpg
| |____________movie2.avi_sheet.jpg
| |___________Movie3
| |____________folder.jpg
| |____________folder_sheet.jpg
| |____________movie3.mkv_sheet.jpg

Thank you, belatu. I really like the shadow folder concept. I tried out the new program and it did not work. I copied the log entries for both the central repository alone and with the shadow folder structure option checked.

Code: Select all
While using just central repository option alone with success at creating sheet:

Movie Information Saved
Analyzing Media File
1 Audio Streams Found
1 Video Streams Found
1 Subtitle Streams Found
Using Existing Backdrop & Poster
Creating Movie Sheet
ERROR: Template Referenced Image (C:\Program Files (x86)\MovieSheetGen+\Templates\WD_OrigLook_SHEET\..\Common\countries\.png) Not Found
WARNING: No Image Found for Element s1
Movie Information Saved

While using central repository with shadow folder structure option checked resulting in no sheet created:

Movie Information Saved
Analyzing Media File
1 Audio Streams Found
1 Video Streams Found
1 Subtitle Streams Found
Using Existing Backdrop & Poster
Creating Movie Sheet
ERROR: Template Referenced Image (C:\Program Files (x86)\MovieSheetGen+\Templates\WD_OrigLook_SHEET\..\Common\countries\.png) Not Found
WARNING: No Image Found for Element s1
Movie Information Saved
A generic error occurred in GDI+.

The error in the template does not seem to be causing the problem as it happens in both cases but with just the repository option checked it creates the new sheet. I chose a different poster and backdrop to make sure I knew if the sheet was recreated on each try. Also I should say that my movie directory on my Mac partition is just a single folder/directory named movies with all the movies, moviesheets, and thumbs in there. So the structure path on the partition is:

Users/Username/Movies. With everything thrown in there like movie soup.
