I'm happy to announce that the youtube-subscriptions plugin just got navigation support (*yay*). You can now use MediaNavigation (or the regular FF/Rev buttons) to jump ahead or behind in your clips.

It took a lot of time before I understood what needed to be done, but it was fixed with just a few changes of code. The new proxy version is on svn. You should reboot your devices to update to the newest version.

In case of trouble, post back on this thread and I'll see what I can do. I've tested it on 1.02.21-wdlxtv-0.4.5.3 as well as 1.02.21-wdlxtv-0.4.3.1 and I've had no problems with it. Even resume points work :)

Okay, this new update wasn't good at for my box that stopped loading my subscriptions. It gets stuck on loading content...

I do have 2 boxes and one of them is under an older firmware and the subscriptions still working as before. I have noticed that on the box that has the problems the youtube proxy file is from Jan 02 2011. Let me know if you want me to post some debugging data here.

If it gets stuck on loading content, it means the helper script either isn't working, or is not generating the cache file. The changes to the proxy are visible only when viewing content.

Post back the output of these commands:
Code: Select all
ls -lh /tmp/youtube-subscriptions*
crontab -l
cat /conf/S99user-script

You can also try to generate the cache by hand by running this command:
Code: Select all
/usr/bin/php5-cgi /tmp/umsp-plugins/youtube-subscriptions/youtube-subscriptions-helper.php --insecure

The output should show you what the problem is. If it works, you should be able to see videos in the UI.

I have tried to run those commands by using Putty and also Telnet but it keeps telling file does not exists. I think I need to change username, right?

Which file does it say it doesn't exist? .cache or .php?
Please paste the output of the commands above so that I can understand better what's wrong. There shouldn't be any confidential information in the output I requested.
If the username is wrong, the php script should complain about it.

Well none of the commands worked and the error was that the file did not exist. Basically none of the commands worked and therefore there was not output generated. I think this problem can be due to not enough permissions from the user level that authenticating with on the session. I used the wdlxtv username on the telnet. Should I use a different login?

First of all - even when something doesn't work, it can fail in different ways and the output can be very helpful to somebody debugging, even if it seems unimportant to you. You should also post backe the commands the way you issued them, so that I can spot typos.

Second, when you login via telnet/ssh you must use the 'root' username and the password that you set (if you set one). The default password is blank (just press enter at the Password: prompt). wdlxtv is the username for the webend.

I recommend you use putty because it has copy/paste functionality. The webend telnet client doesn't have it (I think).

@chenp22 - If you want to set it up, follow the instructions on the wiki: http://wiki.wdlxtv.com/Youtube_subscriptions. If you get stuck post on this thread.
