As stated in the readme you can execute every shell script! Just rename it to have .script at the end and make sure you can execute it in shell...

Finally I got my problem to work by deleting the .wdtvext-plugings/tools/backgrounds/svn folder.

I also got rid of the "scripts" files and sub-menu, since I don't need it, by deleting some lines in your tools.plugin.js file. hehe

BTW, thanks for the convenient patch script recliq!

recliq: I have created a new script that works in your framework. It is intended to toggle between two UMSP server configurations. If you think it is worth it or if people find it useful you can add it to your svn repo so it can be downloaded easier. If you have a USB stick attached to your WDTV, you need to create a folder named ".wdtv-plugins" (the name starts with a dot) and then, from the UI you can navigate and download plugins directly from your WDTV. The plugin in question is called "Tools" and adds a new menu to the UI.

Note: This plugin is only available via SVN, meaning you have to download it in Plugins menu!

Tools Menu offers different little Tools to main menu:

Reboot
Change Sheet Mode
Change Background Image
Execute Shell Scripts

Background Images
...should be copied to .wdtvext-plugins/Tools/backgrounds. They should be 1280x720px and less than 500kB.
Note: You have to leave the main menu page once for the background image to change!

Scripts
You can use any shell script which complies to the following:
- script is executable and running in shell
- script filename must end with .script
- script must have a valid shebang

You can use any shell script (bash, perl, php, ...).
Only STDOUT of your script output will be visible in OSD, STDERR will be ignored.
Your script can contain meta-data, see examples. Future versions of Tools plugin may display this information.

How should the background images be named in the .wdtvext-plugins/Tools/backgrounds folder? <picture name>.bg?
