What you need to know
DownloadDaemon is a download-manager which will run on low-end NAS like the WDTVLIVE
Because they are so low-end, the GUI will use a lot of CPU power if you run it from the webend.
I advise everyone to use the ddclient-GUI, which is available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/downloaddaemon/files/Version%201.1/
This GUI will give you more pleasure when using DownloadDaemon and won't crash as often.

About
Derlinuxer couldn't support us anymore, so Martor and I took over the project of cross-compiling DownloadDaemon (via Ubuntu).
For feature requests and other stuff, you can go to the project home page. You are welcome there. b3nno, the guy who's the creator of the project is also a member here, so if you don't want to go to his website, PM him with future request (remember that he does everything free, so don't ask too much!!).

More Information you will get on http://downloaddaemon.sourceforge.net/
Downloads:
Rev 1197 and above
Rev 1275 and above
Requirements:
- b-rads firmware 0.4.2 or higher
Installation:
Unrar the archive, put it on a usb disk and it will mount as soon as you reboot your WDTV-live via the webend or via telnet.
Then DownloadDaemon should be mounted and shown on the webend. The first thing you should do then is updating to the latest version by clicking config and then update
Some big Points in the thread (one at the moment):
If you want to use rapidshare/megaupload/hotfile premium account don't forget to set "direct download ..." in your rapidshare account. If not you will get only small file (about 30kB)
When something is not working as it should, just telnet to your wdtv and do this command:
- Code: Select all
/tmp/init.d/S97downloadd clean
If that's still not working use the following command:
- Code: Select all
/tmp/init.d/S97downloadd force-clean
Thanks
First of all, thanks to b3nno, stefan, koryu, etc who created this application with plugins! Secondly, thanks to Brad! Without him, we wouldn't have this forum or any of the firmwares released! A big thanks to derlinuxer, who created the crosscompile enviroment and guided us through the first time! Also chameleon_skin, who gave me a great tutorial on how to create an app.bin! Also thanks to Martor, for the support and testing of this application! Finally, thanks to all of the other developers and members!!! With their support, my WDTV-live has become a mediaplayer, where even my mom can work with!!!
