I've gone through the forum, I did not see anything on it. Sorry, I work with computers and software all day, but this is all completely differnt, and I'm far from a pro. Thanks again for putting up w/ me being so green at this
Actually, I'm sorry, I'm going to take this to the noobie thread and check out the wiki. Thanks

S00custom-options is getting obsoleted by the new web-based configuration interface, which is far more user-friendly. FIgure out the IP address of your WDTV, then access it through http://ip_address/ . Username and passwords are in the README.

I also saw that. Now for those of us running multiple units is there
an easy way to copy the new config file from one unit to another?

Thank you

Allowing you to download a configuration file is something I have considered, however one problem with reusing configuration on other boxes is that some settings must be unique (like the IP, device name, etc...), so you can't just copy/paste your whole configuration between boxes.

it would be easy enough for me to edit the configuration files.
(If I knew where they were to copy them to my other boxes)

It would also make it handy to be able to be keep a backup copy of the config file

So I guess the real question is: Where are the new config files kept?

Thank you

After you click on "Backup", the backup file is created as /conf/config.bak .

You could download that file, copy it as /conf/config.bak on the new box, then click "Restore". Edit the loaded settings, then save them back.

I remember reading some older posts within another thread, stating it wasn't working....

If not, I would assume that its because it was only recently launched here in Canada, and that it will take a bit of time for WD to implement the new netfilx code on their end to include the Canadian Netflix server.

If it is working - then great! Defiantly can't wait!

Here's the latest "official" notice from WD...

Code: Select all
In order to clear up any confusion about Netflix supposedly being available in Canada on the WD TV Live Plus...

•At this time, the WDTV Live Plus does not support Netflix in Canada.  On the WD TV Live Plus box, we clearly state that the Netflix service is available in the United States ONLY.
•We are currently looking into streaming Netflix for Canadian users.  However, we do NOT have any timeline as to when, if at all, this will ever happen.

We do apologize for any confusion caused by incorrect information floating around the internet.

If you call netflix support they tell you that they are working at adding new hardware. Since they told me that a few weeks ago they have added a number of devices. I think it's more netflix Canada than WD. My suggestion is everyone with a plus in Canada should call netflix support and ask them when they will support WDTV. Log into netflix and find the support number. It will give you a reference code that they will ask for on the phone, otherwise I'd just give you the number now. First month is free, and you can pay with paypal. Cancel the account before the 30 days is up if you don't want to pay anything.

Updated to 4.3.1 and was plesently suprised with the functionality. I like the improvements.

then a couple days later, I updated to 4.3.2

1. Webend wont connect anymore (get a page cant be found error)

2. I have issues with the "play, stop, FF, RW, Pause" buttons. THey downt work while watching a .iso

3. Also (not sure how far this issue goes back cause I didnt check it before upgrading) if i have an ISO file in a folder and I hit the play button while having the folder selected, I get a "can't read this file type error". If i open the folder and hit play on the .iso file itself, it plays.

Any ideas why any of these three issues might be happening now?

EDIT: Now i can't get pandora to work. says i have to have a U.S. IP address. Im in the middle of the US. I am beginning to think i may have a network issue of somesort. The WDTV says it has a good network conn, IP/Subnet/Gateway are all right. I can see my network shares and xmounted drives on the WDTV. hmmmmm. trouble shooting time.

Have you tried doing a factory reset?
You could have a corrupted setting.

Factory Reset

huh....wierd. that fixed the pandora issue and webend issue.

THanks for the tip. I will remember that for next time. However, man it is sure a pain to have to type anything on the WDTV keyboard. I dont want to FReset very often.

I will post the iso issue as its own topic disregard it here.

EDIT: the reset also fixed my remote control issue as well.
