unlikely, codecs can't be changed or added. WDLXTV supports only the codecs the standard firmware supports.

Also, Apple hates you. And themselves. Don't use their formats.

There's a great alternative -- FLAC. Get dbpoweramp reference and encode that nasty apple stuff to a codec that's free and lossless :D

He's probably wrestling with DRM and doesn't think there's a (legal?) way around it.

Actually, I am on a mac. I've used Flac before, but it just doesn't translate to my portable device well.

I was going with ALAC as well when I did have an ipod. However, that got stolen, so I resorted to getting a Cowon D2 and have never really looked back. FLAC is awesome, but it's a little overkill to play it on a portable :shock:

A little off-topic, but it really is so much easier when you can 'nix the proprietary stuff. I mean, isn't that sort of the whole reason why we're all here? :D Hope you find your solution.

no point in having two files though. WDTV is currently hooked up to my hifi system also
