Postby papastone » Tue Jan 20, 2015 2:29 pm

hi2u,

my problem is; the official maxdome app doesnt play anything while running wdlxtv software on my gen3.
once Im runing official software on my gen3, maxdome plays every stream fine.

well first off, I'll need to know the exact firmware version you are running

besides that, I've never heard of maxdome
if it's something geolocked to UK, I probably don't have access to it
but I'll take a look for it tonight

my firmware version is 2.02.32-WDLXTV_GEN3-0.1.5
maxdome is a german VoD service which comes as standard plugin with WD TV Gen3.

maybe u can have a look at this problem.
thank u very much.

so I took at look at what I could, it isn't much

I verified there are no missing files for Maxdome
files for Maxdome on official firmware are exactly the same as on Gen3 firmware

without a way to test the app, I really can't do much of anything else in terms of debugging and finding a fix

something probably unrelated
I did update and fix curl binary tonight
if Maxdome was trying to use a broken curl it could be fixed now
but again I have no way to test, and it's a very small chance that this update fixed it

KAD
no missing files for Maxdome

may be diffs in some files?
Is it in official firmware apps presented into firmware?
Its not loading from some server?

it's in the official firmware, so not downloaded from some server

there's actually very little to it
Code: Select all
ls /apps/maxdome/

you'll find a json configuration file (this would be read only in official firmware)
and a folder containing 2 images

that's all there is, even in the official firmware
last time there was some problem with WD official apps
it was due to problem with dbus not running
but that was fixed long ago
