the theme folder must be named exactly ".theme"

to do this you have several options
windows cmd line
file rename program, example bulk rename utility
FTP - use something like filezilla, location must be /share/.theme
telnet

what goes inside the .theme folder, them files xml's etc ... (you could easily just rename the theme folder from GBBM to .theme)
Linksheets should also go inside the .theme folder
folder/genre sheets are just Linksheets without an extension, named exactly as the folder is

and that web page in your pic, does not exist in this firmware

Hi KAD,

Thanks for the reply. I spent a good half hour Googling how to get windows to rename the folder to ".theme" but I had no success. I know how to bring up cmd, but don't know what to do after that. I'll Google a file renaming program now to see if I have more luck with that? I also checked all instructions etc. but there was nothing about how to do this.

I posted on the other forum also - to advise exactly what I had done so far. I HOPE I did everything right to date. Link is http://community.wd.com/t5/WD-TV-Live-Streaming/WDLXTV-Moviesheets-Vs-Linksheets/m-p/665489/highlight/false#M27443

Hi,

I'm not having any luck with this renaming thing (I'm not an I.T. guy).

I've downloaded 'bulk renamer utility' (which looks complex) and 'basic file renamer', not even sure where to start with either? Does any know of a link which explains the easiest way to do this? I've practically read a bible's-worth of info already without getting very far, so another link won't hurt at this point.

Alternatively, if someone could write the command for me, I could pull up cmd on my Pc and copy/paste to see if it will work?

if you know how to bring up windows cmd line you can do

Code: Select all
rename GBBM .theme

that's the cmd rename
followed by
original folder name
followed by new folder name

Ok,

When I bring up cmd, I'm on C-prompt. C:\Users\Me>

The location of the file I am tring to rename is located here: D:\WDLXTV Backup\goodbye Black Mamba Theme

So when I bring up cmd, I am typing...

rename D:\WDLXTV Backup\goodbye Black Mamba Theme .theme

But when I do, I'm getting the error "The syntax of the command is incorrect"?

I've also tried
rename "D:\WDLXTV Backup\goodbye Black Mamba Theme .theme" and rename D:\WDLXTV Backup\goodbye Black Mamba Theme ".theme"

Keep getting the same errors?

the problem is the spaces in your cmd

try
rename "D:\WDLXTV Backup\goodbye Black Mamba Theme" .theme

anything in quotes is treated as one entry

OMG - how easy things are when you know what you're doing.

Thank you so much - this has renamed the folder as is needed.

So, to make sure I have it right, these are all on the root of my thumb drive as per your instructions...

wdlxtv-palace.bin
wdtvlivegen3.bin.mpm
runsit.sh
wdtvlivegen3.bin.mpm.sha1sum

In addition to this, I now place the renamed folder .theme into the same root on my thumb drive. (Inside this renamed folder is a folder called 'image', a folder called 'screenshot' and 65 x XML files, that's it.)

I now take my renamed files that TG created for a movie, i.e. TG produced two jpg's (one called 'Despicable Me 2.jpg' and the other called 'Despicable Me 2.mkv_sheet.jpg'). I renamed the former to 'Despicable Me 2' and the latter to 'Despicable Me 2.mkv' - as per previous instructions. I copy both of these into the .theme folder and that's it?

Please tell me I have this right?

As ever, thank you for your time (and patience).

depends on your thumbgen settings
most likely Despicable Me 2.jpg is a thumbnail, which would need to stay where thumbgen put it, next to the movie file
Despicable Me 2.mkv_sheet.jpg renamed to Despicable Me 2.mk should be a moviesheet which once renamed should be put inside ".theme" folder

Hi KAD,

if I may quickly interfear, did you notice much difference in the scroll speed with different sized Linksheets? So, mine are about 300k, and I reduced them to 70kb, but I didn´t found much improvement.

Strange thing, The Coco Theme runs much faster with the same Linksheets as my modified Titan Live does.
Talking about List view here, don´t know if that makes any difference.

It takes for about 1 sec to move one entry down, with Coco maybe 0,3 ...

Btw, I run this theme now parallel on my hub and on the SMP with wdlxtv. Works great.
