Heyy Firetix, i just watched your video, and it gave me an idea.

Basically using your idea for the 'dummy' files, lets do it the other way around.

So the main movie and moviename.jpg REMAINS the same.

So eg Avatar.mkv will have normal thumbnail called Avatar.jpg this can be either the thumbnail generted by the Hub or a custom one created by thumbgen ie the same as your folder.jpg

Now the moviesheet part

We create a new dummy file called for example movie.mkv_sheet.mkv this can be created using a simple text file and renaming it to .mkv or another format that matches your movie file.

We then create a moviesheet for the MAIN movie using Thumbgen and output it as normal to movie.mkv_sheet.jpg

We would use the following command in Thumbgen in the naming options

$M\$N$E_sheet

THIS SOLVES ALOT OF ISSUES, NO MORE NEED TO CREATE SEE THROUGH MOVIESHEETS AS YOUR MAIN MOVIE WILL JUST SHOW THE CUSTOM THUMBNAIL ALLOWING THE INTERNET BACKDROPS TO SHOW.

IT ALSO MEANS THAT IF YOU RUN 'GET INFO' ON THE HUB YOU WILL NOT WIPE OUT YOUR MOVIESHEET AS IT WILL ONLY OVERWRITE THE NORMAL THUMBNAIL.

If you use folder view the first file will always be your main movie and the second file will be your moviesheet.

Just move across and you instantly see your Moviesheet. This will be a normal static background. Goto back to the first file and you can view your movie.

If you use All view then you WILL GET 2 Files per movie, the first will flash up a BIG THUMBNAIL in the middle of the screen allowing you to see all the other movies at the bottom and the second file will be your moviesheet once again this is a static picture filling up ALL the screen, move across one more time and view the next film again a BIG THUMBNAIL flashes up in the middle of the screen and you can see your other movies.

I will put up some pictures in a bit once i put some finishing touches to my theme

So we would have the following files

moviename.mkv (main movie)
folder.jpg (custom coverbox)
moviename.jpg (Custom thumbnail can be the same as folder.jpg)
moviename.mkv_sheet.mkv (dummy movie file)
moviename.mkv_sheet.jpg (moviesheet)

Tested this works !!!

If fact i created the dummy file 2 ways:---

1) i manually created a blank text file and renamed to the correct format

2) i used Thumbgen to create an exact copy of the moviesheet using the 'Extra Moviesheet'

The output naming format was

$M\$N$E_sheet

This created a jpg which i then manually changed the extension to mkv

Both Dummy files worked !!!!

So will ask TG to allow us to create a dummy file using the same picture as the main moviesheet but also auto changing the name of the dummy file to the same as the movie extension

First page will be updated later today with details on how to create Moviesheets that are compatible with BOTH your HUB and LIVE.

It means that you will be able to use your existing moviesheets that you created for the Live with the Hub.

I will update with a new Theme and some test files, also the naming convention.

Thanks firetix nice videos shows just how far we come with this

Great news i solved the issue of having to go back to play your actual movie.....

This was in my opinion the biggest drawback to changing the naming format from the original way of doing things to the new 'dummy video file' method.

However i didn't want to go back to the original method of renaming your moviesheet to moviename.jpg because if you ran 'Get Info' on the hub it wipes out your moviesheet also if you use one of the xml generators that also auto wipes out your moviesheet.

In the Menu goto Setup----> Video Settings -----> Video Playback Sequence

Change to Repeat All

This will bounce it from the dummy file to the main movie.....

Means you can press play on the moviesheet and the movie starts playing !!!!!!!

Here is a major update of my theme

Main changes are:---

New Blue Anozided Backgrounds

All icons are repositioned at the bottom of the screen

New List Mode works with in Music mode as well

New Music icon on main menu curtesy of Tinwarble

This theme has been designed to work for normal use even if you don't use the moviesheet function, however it really work better if you do so, please read instructions above for the naming structure. Use the Dummy movie file as standard from now onwards as this gives best compatibility.

Your choice if you want to use standard moviesheets or transparent moviesheets both work.....

When on moviesheet page Hit 'PLAY' not 'ENTER' to watch movie (make sure video is set to Repeat All in settings)

Final point of note is that you need to have your movies in individual folders for all this to work properly.

So to recap if you have a movie called Avatar.mkv

Avatar Folder will have the following files

Avatar.mkv (The actual movie)

folder.jpg (Customised folder.jpg you can create using thumbgen best use a cover template)

Avatar.jpg (Thumbnail you can use one the hub download via 'Get Info' or create customised thumbnail with thumbgen i use same template to create my folder.jpg and moviename.jpg at same time)

Avatar.xml (Movie metadata you can use the hub 'Get Info' or create xml via thumbgen NOTE thumbgen xml is not 100% compatible at the moment)

Avatar.mkv_sheet.mkv (Dummy movie file to trigger the moviesheet)

Avatar.mkv_sheet.jpg (The moviesheet this is compatible with both the Hub and Live you can use a normal static .jpg or a transparent .jpg as described above)

Use a Moviesheet theme like firetix's or mine ................Then the magic happens

Without PsychoTHC original work on the Hub theme none of this would be possible so a massive thank you
