Is it possible to change the mac-address on WDLXTV-Plus

I have been trying to get IPTV to work on my WDLXTV-Plus - is there any way to change the MAC address?

Try with

ifconfig eth0 down
ifconfig eth0 hw ether 00:11:22:33:44:55
ifconfig eth0 up


... but changing the MAC address should not influence IPTV streaming (if you are behind a router at least).

Thank you very very much for your reply.
I will try your solution as soon as possible.
My ISP and IPTV provider has their own tv-box which runs on a network where they filter on ip and mac address - if I change the both IP/mac address on my win 7 I can watch the tv-stream in VLC.
