hi recliq, thanks.
i tried this and it still don't show movie sheets.

Code: Select all
#Enable Movie Sheets
config_tool -c SHOW_FILESIZE_SETTING=0
config_tool -c MSHEETMODE=sheet
config_tool -c VIDMSHEET=ON
config_tool -c GENMSHEET=ON
config_tool -c LISTMSHEET=ON
config_tool -c LINKSHEETS=ON

Then there ius most likely something wrong with the names of your moviesheets, (linux is CasE SEnsiTivE!)
or you maybe didn't wait long enough after boot for the linksheet script to complete (both LEDs stop blinking)

I finally got it by going into webend. For some reason it wasn't seeing those commands in the S00 file and I don't know why. That Webend is the cats meow.

You can't. For starter, there is no mechanical power switch, so how would you turn the device back on if it was turned off (and so, unable to listen to IR signals from your remote)? :)

The device is warm because there is no form of active cooling. Someone once posted the power consumption measurements of the WDTV, and this should not be an issue - only a few watts if I remember. I wouldn't worry, the device was designed to operate that way. Many routers desinged to run 24/7 have no power switch and run even hotter than the WDTV (my Linksys WRT310N keeps the wooden shelf where it's sitting quite warm in fact).

Thanks you for your answer, now I understand. I would back to another firmware, but if this is normal, i will leave this firmware.

THANKS you again.!

Hi All - I have an issue with my WDTV Live+ using the b-rad custom firmware 0.4.3.2.

My hardware freezes from time to time. When using the stock firmware I was able to get the Airlink 101 Wireless USB adapter to work fine. But after the upgrade, the same adapter keeps losing wireless connectivity. I have checked with wired and it works fine (freezing issue still exists).

I dont think this is a firmware issue but is more prevalent in the custom firmware.....the remote is hyper sensitive. If I click the arrow keys a little harder it scrolls 3-4 options as opposed to one at a time.

Anyone else with these issues?

Also - when trying to open certain YouTube videos longer in duration its says Video cannot be found. Is this expected behavior?

And finally - another issue I experience a lot is if I switch from a 1080p TV to a 720p TV, it does not recognize the HDMI connection and I have to use Component. I have set the HDMI resolution to Auto.

Raskolnikov wrote:Updated to 4.3.1 and was plesently suprised with the functionality. I like the improvements.

then a couple days later, I updated to 4.3.2

1. Webend wont connect anymore (get a page cant be found error)

2. I have issues with the "play, stop, FF, RW, Pause" buttons. THey downt work while watching a .iso

3. Also (not sure how far this issue goes back cause I didnt check it before upgrading) if i have an ISO file in a folder and I hit the play button while having the folder selected, I get a "can't read this file type error". If i open the folder and hit play on the .iso file itself, it plays.

Any ideas why any of these three issues might be happening now?

EDIT: Now i can't get pandora to work. says i have to have a U.S. IP address. Im in the middle of the US. I am beginning to think i may have a network issue of somesort. The WDTV says it has a good network conn, IP/Subnet/Gateway are all right. I can see my network shares and xmounted drives on the WDTV. hmmmmm. trouble shooting time.

Just another data point, I'm seeing ALL the same issues - no web frontend, no pandora. As pandora is the whole reason I have this box.... It's frustrating. Not sure which version to downgrade to, but I need to ASAP!

edit: Loaded 1.03.29 and it didn't magically fix. Re-up-grading and resetting, we'll see how long it lasts.

I loaded 1.03.39_B_WDLXTV.COM_PLUS-0.4.3.2 and all is good!!!! Thanks for such a great firmware. Both Netflix and sheets are working flawlessly. Just thought I'd give my results.

Just wanted to say thanks. I came across your firmware because WD mentions it on their FAQ. I went there as the latest updates fubared playing my mkvs no matter what I did to try and fix it. Flashed 0.4.3.2 and not only can I play mkvs, it also seems faster. Thank you so much!

Hah!

WDTV FAQ wrote:F) What’s this I hear about “Hacked Firmware?”

Yes, it does exist, “out there.” The most often cited is WDLXTV, which does seem to be making some good stuff.

Am I the only one who finds it hilarious that a major hardware manufacturer is not only acknowledging but advertising hacked firmware?
