You can play a playlist. Simply navigate to the playlist so that you see the entries and press Play on the first entry and it should continue with all of them. If you press Enter it will play just the current entry.

Thanks for the reply. Last question: the max quality is 720p or 1080p ?

Youtube provides 720p mp4 video with an audio stream as well. The 1080 and higher resolutions are video only and have separate audio streams. Normally the web player combines the two, but wdtv can't, so you're stuck with 720p.

I am trying to compile Python and install youtube-dl and other interesting stuff (good progress has done...) for improvement but I need help. I need the GPL code and the toolchain for wd tv live. Is there a mirror available somewhere because the official link of wd forum is broken (all stuff for wdtv was removed). Thanks.

I don't have the toolchain handy, but you don't need to compile python to run youtube-dl. There was an app.bin by recliq providing python 2.x that you can use.

Is there an app with ffmpeg updated because i am not able to transcode 1080p video/audio downloaded with youtube-dl.

There is an older ffmpeg.app.bin, but you don't need to use it for transcoding (because it would be too slow on the wdtv). If you use youtube-dl to download video and audio streams you can use ffmpeg to add them to a new container, but make sure you use -vcodec copy and -acodec copy. Look for the map option: https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Map

The new youtube-dl is incompatible with an old FFmpeg. I resolve to use my Android smartphone. I use Tubemate app to download a 1080p youtube subscriptions video and cast it with Web Video Cast app:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... t.webvideo

In addition, I resolve the problem that my TV is distant from my router with this cheap wifi router recognized without problem with my wdtv live:

Instead for music playlist, 720p Youtube3 is fine.

Yes, that wifi bridge looks great!
You can also try Bubble UPNP to cast Youtube (or most other sites) to be rendered on the WDTV (via DLNA).

hi mad_ady,

i added a method to bypass age-restricted videos.

It's taken from youtube-dl and adapted to the script.

here is the patch https://github.com/nixxo/umsp-plugins/c ... 0639.patch
or diff if you prefer https://github.com/nixxo/umsp-plugins/c ... 70639.diff
