Anything changed on youtube side since a few days? I can access subscriptions like usual (youtube3) but can't play any video anymore, also after several reboots..' Unable to play the selected file. Please refer...' Etc. I didnt look for any error log, just curious if I'm the only one with this issue.

Hi, yes same problem here, same error message. Was working fine about 10 days ago. I guess youtube changed something at their end. 1.02.21_0.5.2.2

Any update?

I've just installed Youtube3, and although it can't play anything, I added my Youtube username adrianpaulwood (from adrianpaulwood@gmail.com), but don't see anything in the interface to view favorites (which is a public playlist).

Basically I want to play a specific video (Star Trek Continues E01), which I've added in youtube as a favorite and can't find any way to find it in the interface?

I updated the instructions in the first post to help you find your youtube username (it differs for some users, it seems):
Code: Select all
[*]Navigate to Webend -> Configuration Manager -> UMSP -> Youtube3 to enable and customize (e.g. you can add your account name (this isn't always the same thing as your email address, but you can find it out by going to https://www.youtube.com/user and you should be redirected to something like https://www.youtube.com/user/someyoutubeaccountname. Use this name to log in.) in YOUTUBE_USERS variable). Make sure to have UMSP and APACHE turned on.

Thanks to wildwdlxtv for the tip.

Try it now, and I'll try to fix the playback issues as soon as possible...

Edit: I ran some tests - I think I know what the problem is. Lately youtube started serving content through https instead of http and the proxy doesn't handle that yet. I meant to fix it a while ago, but I haven't had the time :( At least now I know what I have to do - but I can't promise any deadlines - I have a new-born at home (second one), and I'm pretty busy at work as well. Hopefully I'll get to it in the next month or so :(

I really hope there will be a fix anytime soon..but as I read elsewhere I guess the userbase is too small for this plugin as well?

I don't care about the userbase size for this plugin. This is something that got me started on the WDTV and something I want to have working (though I am not using it anymore). So, I will fix it (eventually), but I'm going through a busy period and can't spare the time to rewrite what needs to be rewritten. But it will be done. Hopefully in late September or early October.

Many thx for plugin but:

1. I cant add to fav list some Youtube channels such as: (not shown in plugin)

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5JHZ7no2Kcn1ejHuA8AmDQ
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsgnWX-HU2BIS7B-QMzPcfQ
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZkl4La84NS5IdPLeLltRmw

2. If you cant realize user authentication to view all new videos in one feed (such as on youtube site https://www.youtube.com/feed/subscriptions ) please realize one feed for all channels in comma-separated list by publish time in descending order. Its not very good to list all my channels to search new videos everytime.

I don't know what the problem is with #1 - must be some weird youtube api issue. Can you view the videos from a different youtube client?
For #2 I know it's a problem. I need to find the correct youtube API call to get the newest videos from all subscriptions. I agree the current situation sucks.

I'd like to ask you somehing - can you play any video? As far as I know playback was broken (and I need to rewrite something in the plugin to handle everything as https).
