Smth like UMSP on Android ?

Discussion, features, plugins--everything about zoster's UMSP UPnP Media Server software

1. UMSPX really works on windows-PC. Most plugins should be tuned for this environment, but it works.
But - it is not interesting

2. On Android we have busybox and web-server (lighttpd+php+mysql).
I tried to install UMSPX on Android, I even can see my device in AllShare, but I can't see any plugins.

May be - UMSPX should be adapted for Android.
But - my knowledge of UMSP and Android not enough for it...

I wouldn't start with UMSPX for this port. One should start with the current UMSP found in the SVN. The difference is - the current UMSP version has some fixes and tweaks that make it more compliant as a DLNA server than UMSPX (and UMSPX has been mostly discontinued).

Now, if you tell me how to install lighttpd+php on android (a link would suffice), I will take a look (note, I am still a noob android user - my experience is 2 weeks old).

There is one requirement - UMSP must constantly broadcast its location, and currently does so via a wget call in /usr/bin/wdlxtv.watch. Something similar needs to be done in android (+ some internal changes on where to get the system paths and config).

Nice to see you're still around, mimepp. Sorry I declared you were missing in action

@avkiev: I'll be playing with the server you sent me, but it will take a while before I get comfortable with the android system to make something work (I'm still learning).
Update: 5 day trial? This sucks...

the proposals here so far are dreadful overkill...

I'm curious what b-rad's proposal is and how it will simplify the porting. So far, one would need a php interpreter running on android + some sort of http server to understand the requests, so I'm not sure how one could simplify that requirement...
