First of all - HAPPY NEW YEAR 2013 !!!

We have a lot of UMSP-plugins. Can we use their on Android ?
Actually, I'm looking for Android-application, which can works with some plugins. Basically, plugin - it is parser of some site with media-content.
It will be great if this application can works with our existing UMSP-plugins (php-based). But, it is not obligatory.
Any suggestions ?

If it is offtop - sorry, move it to proper forum

To run UMSP plugins on androis you'd need a webserver running on your android.
But have you tried UMSP_LAN patch? This patch exposes UMSP to the LAN, meaning you can browse your UMSP plugins running on WDLXTV with any DLNA compatible media controller in the LAN (or another WDTV).

In theory, if you run a web server+php on the android device and if you can generate a multicast packet (currently done in php) you could run umsp on android directly. You would still need a dlna program to control umsp, but it can be done with minimal changes in the umsp code.

Some problems you can expect:
* you would need to handle plugin download and configuration yourself
* hardcoded paths (to /conf/config or /tmp) in plugins need to be changed to use standard umsp functions - e.g. getUMSPConf())
* the web server will need to run on port 80, since most plugins with proxies will call http://127.0.0.1/umsp/plugins/myplugin/myproxy.php

So, it's totally doable, but it would probably require a rooted android.

The good news is - since my wife got me an android phone for christmas, i might be interested in this as well. :)

Good, very good.
For now - lets simplify this task.
Can we use our umsp-plugins on windows-based PC (w/o WDTV) ?

Yes. 1-2 years ago somebody created a stand-alone umsp version (called umspx). This used apache + php on windows or linux and made some small changes to the umsp internal code. Some plugins worked with it.

I merged most of those changes into the UMSP_LAN patch, so the current UMSP code can be copy-pasted in a working apache+php setup and can be started with minimum changes.

You can try out UMSPX, but be warned, it's only reported to work on the PS3. I had to make additional changes to make it work with xbmc.

I've done some related work that I bet I could transition to running umsp directly. I'll give it a shot this weekend :ugeek:
