You can get the official UPnP documentation here (ContentDirectory).
The available field names can be aquired with the GetMediaInfo UPnP command.

Hello,

Have been struggling to get VLC (v1.0.5) to stream anything to my WDTVLive. Could someone that has managed to get this working please post their vlc.php, vlc-proxy.php and umsp.php files (I see there has been some changes recommended since the original post), the exact vlc command string would also be nice!

Many Thanks,

Hi niismail,

just take a look at my EyeTV Plugin. There is everything you will need: VLC Proxy, VLC command etc.

Sorry to revive old thread. Am looking to stream live video from my windows box to WDTVLive. Looks like Dan's code is valid for Mac. Is there anything I need to do to make it work for windows too?

Thanks

my question is why the western digital reads almost any media file so why stream from the pc if your connected via a network it will stream from the p.c if the device can not connect via a net work you can use an external storage device connect the device to a pogo usb network storage device if you want more features check out b-rad wdlx

How do you play rented DVDs if you don't have a DVD player. It would be nice if WDTV can catch VLC stream.

Hi

Where do I insert this "fix" to the slow streaming startup ?

/tmp/umsp-plugins/iptv-stream.php ?

thx

the answer to the video delay is indeed given by mmikel :)

One should simply force in the proxy:
Code: Select all
header("Content-Size: 65535");
header("Content-Length: 65535");

in the HTTP header, and the video starts in ~ 10s instead of 1 minute. Same as skyball with DNLA header, my investigations for X-Mod were... not so useful ;)
