I'm the old man who sent messages on CUE files for music, three years ago, on the first MN forum.
Following a change in my installation, I upgraded with 1.02.21-WDLXTV-Live-0.4.7.3 [flash] then downloaded and enabled MNv4.

But I am disappointed : the CUE files do not appear, they are not exposed (only wav, flac, ape ...files).
Did I miss something ?

@farxone: where don't cue files appear? On the OSD? I don't think DMAOSD sees CUE files like media files and just ignores them (but I haven't tested it).

Exactly, the CUE files don't appear on OSD.
Significant problem for me.
The first MN (may 2010 ?) enabled to view cue files and read (with some problems though).
I'm not familiar with Java, but I saw that MNV4 contains a file chapters.include.js with inside a part : case "CUE".
What is its role? I thought it was to take cue files into account.

Well, in that case, I can't be of help. SailorT (if he's still around) should be able to clarify on that. Problem is - you won't view CUE files in the regular OSD with what MediaNavigation does (it can probably show you as a submenu somewhere, but I don't know how it works)

Yeah, good idea. Difficult in the absence of manual, but I got a display :
1 - selection of a music file (for example concertos.flac)
2 - press ENTER starts playback of the first track
3 - press NEXT displays the list of tracks called chapters with their titles (data contained in the associated CUE file) with selection of the second track.
4 - Repeatedly press NEXT (or PREV) to select a track, then ENTER triggers the playing of this track.
Big thanks to Sailort for this excellent plug-in.

Two remarks.
- It's embarrassing when the file (e.g. concertos.flac) includes several concertos. In order to playback the second (concerto2), it is necessary to listen to the beginning of the first (concerto1) to perform the selection of concerto2.
A desirable improvement : ENTER (step 1) displays the tracks before start playing. Is it possible ?

- Most troublesome problem when open folder contains several music files with each file associated with a cue.
After steps 1 and 2, press NEXT (step 3 above) shows not only the tracks(chapters) of the selected music file in step 1, but also the tracks of all the other music files (the contents of all files CUE in folder are grouped and displayed).
By example, for a folder containing 12 files (handel organ concertos by example) with their cue files, the display shows a list of 48 tracks (chapters) while the selected file has only 4 ! But the NEXT button works properly.
Is it possible to show only the tracks of the selected music file ? This would be a great improvement.

it's not any problem to force MN4 to show any file type you want.
just edit /conf/mn.config file

# cat /conf/mn.config | grep mp4
VIDFILESEARCHEXT=mkv,avi,mp4,mov,wmv,m2ts,ts,mpg,mpeg,m4v,m2v,iso,dat,vob,mts

This seems to be a popular plugin but I don't see it explained anywhere what kind of stuff you can do with it.

I saw on the first page if it could be used to skip forward and back with the right/left arrow buttons on the remote without having to fast forward/rewind.

So: Help me (and others) decide whether to use this or not?
