@Markster: Development has started for wdtvext for 1.05 firmwares. If you have time, you can try it out and see if your plugin works as well (some wdtvext plugins work already, others need some tweaking):

Fantastic news and thanks for the heads-up! I donated and reported an issue that hopefully can get addressed.
Cheers.

Hi,

Just a quick question. I have updated to the latest 2.0.3 for subscribers and think I have all the current features (Pop-Up Thumbs, etc) but when I go to system settings and about, the about screen says OSD - 2.02. Is this what it should say or have I not updated all the relevant files?

Cheers,

G

That version comes from an XML file that is not normally included until the final release. I will include it in the phase 2 release just "in case" users are looking at it.
What is of most importance is the date\time and version of the MovieSheets+ plugin.

In order for me to support a new firmware (1.05 vs. 1.02.) the WDTVExt plugin feature needs to be re-assembled and released by the homebrew team.
The key contributor\developer for this was Pibos who until recently was not available to do this work.

Pibos is now re-engaged and there is an initiative underway to get this feature implemented in 1.05 along with some key new features\fixes. I don't have an ETA on this as I don't control that feature.

In regards to 2.0.2 and 5.1.1, the official answer is NO. Only 2.0.3 was updated to support the changes in the 5.1.1 firmware.
One key difference is that in 5.1.1, the firmware plugin used to provide moviesheet references was changed to be called ExtSheet and as a result some of the configuration values were renamed to be called ExtSheet as well.

I had to update my code to make reference to these new configuration names. IF you run 2.0.2, it will continue to refer to the old names, which is fine as they still exist, but if you want to update them you can only access the newer values and I will not see them.

There seems to be some mounting of USB drive differences as well which can cause intermittent failures of the loading of MovieSheets+ at boot time. 2.0.3 adds some additional logic to find the mounted references to address this.

I'm not sure what you mean by compatible? Templates are used to create JPG or PNG images. MS+ can support any full JPG image if you select the sheet display to "JPG with Music" or "JPG Only" setting.
If the template supports transparency then you need to set sheet display to transparency.

Does this answer your question?

My apologies Stealth, as my comment below only applies to MS+ version 2.0.2.

2.0.1 only supports transparent template designs which produce JPG/PNG combinations. If you try to use a full sheet display it will cut off the sheet about 2/3 of the way through where the PNG is expected to be placed.

2.0.2 is available for all users and added in quite a few new options, including support for FULL JPG templates as I mentioned below. You can get 2.0.2 at the following link: http://moviesheets.ca/index-3-live202.html
