I ran into some missing moviesheets from MSHEETDIR this morning, on investigation, I found my MSHEETDIR has gone from 1000+ to approx 500 sheets, I certain I do not have duplicate sheets on my system anywhere, but I'm just curious if you've checked, maybe your missing sheets don't exist anymore in MSHEETDIR

I had that thing with the missing sheets 2 weeks ago as I told you ... just checked, some (or all) of the new sheets are gone again ;(.

As I told you, only the "new" sheets are missing, the ones I copyied over (without extension) from my windows machine. Obviously they disappear from time to time (I am talking about 1200 sheets that were "Linksheet - created", no problem there, and about 50 manual created sheets which keep disappearing ...

Interesting something similar happened to you as well ... I thought it had to do something with copying the files from a windows PC to an ext3-HDD ... but meanwhile I moved my msheetdir to an USB-Stick with Fat16 ... same problem ...

Here's part of my config.

LINKSHEETS='ON'
MSHEETMODE='sheet'
MSHEETDIR='/tmp/media/usb/USB2/8436-4387/osd/'
DEFAULTSHEET='/tmp/media/usb/USB2/8436-4387/osd/'
MENUSHEETDIR='/tmp/media/usb/USB2/8436-4387/osd/'

I have just noticed that I get an error while rebooting. cp:cannnot creat regular file '/tmp/config-plugins/EYE_CANDY_wec.php' : No such file or directory

Looks like I'm missing something...

MSHEETDIR and MENUSHEETDIR are and should be different
MSHEETDIR is for custom moviesheets
MENUSHEETDIR is for menusheets

could of thoughts, so that I can see your file structure
Code: Select all
ls /tmp/media/usb/USB2/8436-4387/
ls /tmp/media/usb/USB2/8436-4387/osd

but maybe easiest to do this
just to test, grab one of the alternate directories that I provided in the download put it next to your /osd directory
not inside /osd because you're already using that for MSHEETDIR
so that path will look maybe like this
Code: Select all
/tmp/media/usb/USB2/8436-4387/Windows-Wallpapers

then save the path in WEC for MENUSHEETDIR only
reboot

Still no luck...

the osd folder is a carbon copy of the Apple-Wallpapers folder.

MENUSHEETDIR='/tmp/media/usb/USB2/8436-4387/Windows-Wallpapers'

and the contents of Windows-Wallpapaers as per list.

# ls /tmp/media/usb/USB2/8436-4387/Windows-Wallpapers
Account Folders Photo setting
AccuWeather.com Genre Playlist
Add Account Internet Media Preferences
Album Live365 Recent
All music Local drives Search
All photos Media servers Settings
All video Mediafly Shoutcast
Artist Most popular System setting
Audio Most viewed Top favorited
Blockbuster Music Top rated
CinemaNow Music setting Tunein Radio
Date Netflix Video
Deezer Network setting Video setting
Facebook Network shares YouTube
Featured videos New firmware found umsp
File management Now playing usb1
Flickr Pandora usb2
Flingo Photo

I don't have the option for MENUSHEETDIR in the wec, I do have the MSHEETDIR. I do all my settings through SSH, which should matter. I still wonder about the error on reboot about missing EYE_CANDY.wec.php.

the error regarding EYE_CANDY.wec.php is odd where are you seeing this error message?, it would explain why you don't have MENUSHEETDIR option in wec, if it was present it would be on the osd tab categorized under Eye Candy
since you're doing all your config in telnet, you should still be able to get this working

are you actually using MSHEETDIR ????
since before you had the path in both fields the same

maybe you need to
Code: Select all
config_tool -c MSHEETDIR=
config_tool -s

this would remove any value you have set for MSHEETDIR

the other possiblity, is that the directory does not yet exist when the script runs
you could enable early mount and then adjust the path accordingly
early mount is on the main tab in wec, check the box for your drive, then save
next time you reboot the drive will be mounted very early in the boot process
and the location you'll want to use with early mount would be something like
Code: Select all
/tmp/mnt/8436-4387/Windows-Wallpapers

As has been stated many, many times now: /tmp/media/usb/USBx/*** locations do *NOT* exist at boot and cannot be used for things like this.

Eureka!!

I had enabled early mount earlier and forgot to disable it (or forgot to update my references). Looks like I was referencing my folder incorrectly because of that.

Thanks a million for the hand holding, I'm still a noob at this. This place is awesome!!

Hi KAD

Running 1.05.04_V_WDLXTV.COM_WDLXTV_LIVE-0.5.0.0 on a Live and it looks great! I also have customised the menu sheets. One thing I did notice is there are no settings in the wec (e.g. MENUSHEETDIR) so I set it using the config_tool.

Any ideas as to where I went wrong? :?:

Thanks. :D

well, there must be something going on, you're the second person to mention no options on wec,

not quite sure why, as I've got all that available here :?
but I'll see what I can find out.

if you have custom menusheet's that you'd like to share with others feel free to post

for those of you that are missing the wec config options for eye candy if you can provide me the following

Code: Select all
grep KAD /tmp/messages.txt

and

Code: Select all
ls /tmp/config-plugins/

also any exact error message that you see in wec
