if you're having to manually mount the shares after each reboot then something is wrong with either net.mounts or you need to add net.mounts delay on wec so that the script is properly executed

what amount of delay time would be sufficient? or what is average? I notice that there is a scripts icon in the tools section. do I need to run one of those? what is the purpose of the 3 different script choices?

it accepts value's is seconds so the lower the number the better, but you still want it stable and relyable, maybe 10 or 15 would be average, just need to try a value and see if it works

as for tools, IMHO useful items are switching the sheet mode and reboot, the other scripts there are do work, but don't serve much purpsose, I think they were part of the first release of tools, to give people an idea and example of what could be done there, but I'm also unaware of anything written for the tools menu except what you see

I got the thumbs at the bottom, but none of my movie sheets come up. When I go to the movie files on the WD Live they don't show up. They do show up when i go to the files on the computer though. I don't keep them in a repository file, They are all kept in the movie files. Is there a setting or something for that also? Also, the OSD is spread out too wide horizontally and vertically. is there a way to adjust that? my normal TV viewing is fine.

moviesheets? maybe named incorrectly or something, this osd doesn't change or effect any of the moviesheets settings or requirements

as for viewing adjustments, you should look for something called just scan or similiar that will display the entire image without any overscan
besides that, if you have no such option, thumbgen has settings to adjust sheets, but not way to adjust the osd

I tried to reboot again to see if the movie sheets came up and again, the xmounts disappeared. I have them on both the flash drive in the net.mounts folder and listed on the WEC. I don't understand why they are dropping off on reboots.

also, I don't have any scan settings for my TV its an older Toshiba rear projection HD theaterwide. so i guess there is no way to adjust for the icons getting cut off.

xmounts, if the cmds work manually, keep adjusting the net mounts delay till you find the correct value for your set up

moviesheets, I still think it's probably naming compared to mode being used

as for the TV, sorry older rear projects, probably will not have any options to adjust the scan settings
I tried to account for some overscan, actually if you pay attention in the new youtube video's, I had to use an RCA cable to capture that, so you're looking at an image the has overscan factored in

Another dummy question

Got Eye Candy installed 1.8 ( main firmware 1.02.21/ 04.5.3) , but can not get menu sheet working. Need a dummies guide plse.

Can make out what this means:

enable MenuSheet (found in osd, under wdtvext plugins, available plungs, MenuSheet -Ok!

Set MENUSHEETDIR with config_tool -c MENUSHEETDIR=<path> this can now be done on the webend config OSD tab - ???????
example config_tool -c MENUSHEETDIR=/tmp/media/usb/USB1/3480-9806/MENUSHEETDIR- ??????????

Many thanks

enable MenuSheet (found in osd, under wdtvext plugins, available plungs, MenuSheet -Ok!

navigate the wdtv with remote till you find the wdtvext icon, available plugins, Menusheet, if this is enabled, then this portion of section of done

now just need to point the plugin to where the images are

Set MENUSHEETDIR with config_tool -c MENUSHEETDIR=<path> this can now be done on the webend config OSD tab - ???????
example config_tool -c MENUSHEETDIR=/tmp/media/usb/USB1/3480-9806/MENUSHEETDIR- ??????????

it's usually easiest to put this folder "MENUSHEETDIR" on the same thumbdrive as the osd.bin
check out the first post on page 3 of this thread, is a detailed description on how to do this

if you've activated the plugin and set the path, then all should be working, if they are not some more details would be needed to determine what step is missing
