Compiling on the WDTV ?

Have a question about devices internals, memory layout, reverse engineering, etc---This is the place for anything so technical that it would cause a n00b's head to 'splode

Again this GLIBC_2.11 - the main problem.. Look forum for this "GLIBC_2.11".
Try to recompile with changed code (throw away features that use v2.11 glibc.. ).
WD TV Live (1.02.21-WDLXTV-0.4.7.3);

Thanks you DJArty, I've already looked and didn't find anything relevant except:

b-rad.cc wrote:well it sounds like glibc 2.11 has symbols that don't exist in 2.8. That isn't easily gotten around, solution is to produce a lenny image to chroot into.

And what do you mean "throw away features" ? You want me to change the source code ?

Yes...

So remove or change function specific for glibc 2.11.
Or

Don't know about this solution

Hi All!

I've recently bought a WDTV live player.Then I upgraded firmware to B-rad's(1.02.21-WDLXTV-Live-0.4.5.3 [flash] ).
THe firm is very versatile.
I have a Microdia webcam (0c45:627b), and I would like to use it on WDLXTV as a room security cam with apache.
I've found the source driver for it,but I dont know, how to compile it to a module(on the device, with the debian firm, or on any virtual machine(vmware etc)).

IS IT POSSIBLE TO USE THIS WEBCAM AT ALL?

My linux knowledge is weak.

Please, help me about this problem.

Thank you.

My app.bin was created via this instruction - it works fine on 4.3.1. But when i done upgrade to 4.5.3 - wdlxtv not create symlinks to my .so & .ko anymore. Nothing else was not changed, only FW.

Anyone?
Now use the absolute path in the script, but it's an ugly solution :geek:

Code: Select all
------------------------------------------------------------------------
r820 | recliq | 2011-03-06 13:35:22 +0100 (Sun, 06 Mar 2011) | 1 line

fixed missing depmod causing app.bin modules not being found by modprobe
------------------------------------------------------------------------

couldn't reproduce symlinks not being created on SVN version though... so all should be fine again in next release
