How-to: Cross-compile with scratchbox2

Have a question about devices internals, memory layout, reverse engineering, etc---This is the place for anything so technical that it would cause a n00b's head to 'splode

Hey Paul,

I did follow the include trail but the version.h was only like 5 or 6 lines and no quotes whatsoever.

To try to track this down I had to put back the original version.c and then ran make again. Much to my surprise it's still going.

I had moved on and try to compile some other things and ran into missing ssl-dev and libcrypto so I added those packages. Besides that all I did was restart the vm and since it's not running windows I really hope that wasn't what fixed it but at this point I really don't know.

Going to leave the current vm cooking gcc and start up a fresh one so I can hopefully track this down and if I do provide a nice concise set of setup instructions.

Thanks for the pointers though guys!

Looks like it worked guys.

Will lyk if I can figure out the exact steps to success.

Hey guys,

I have gone the chroot route instead so I probably won't be touching this scratchbox thing again unless something blows up in my face using the chroot method.

Thanks again for the help though.

Oh and recliq if you have a swap enabled kernel for me I'd gladly still give that a whirl. I have to kill just about everything to have enough free mem to compile.

Is there a way to automate a resolving/building of package dependencies? Something like apt-get but working with sb2. Its too tiresome to make it manually 8-)
