Here's a screenie for ya.

2. is there any other way out of NETFLIX? is you push HOME does it ask you to exit netflix or does it actually return you to the home screen?

If you press the power button it brings up the popup screen and if you select yes it shuts down. If you press the home button the same popup screen will appear but will take you to the home menu if you select yes.

Well it looks like the timer might be not working correctly. It seems to sleep after 10 minutes of idle no matter what time I enter. I have it currently set to go off after 1800 seconds and this is the message it creates in messages.txt

WDTV user.notice S99sleeptimer: TIME_TO_SLEEP ( 1800 ) DOES NOT EXIST!

Thought I'd pass this on.

ok, a little help guys, who can see the error,

I can't seem to figure it out

Code: Select all
eval `egrep 'TIME_TO_SLEEP' /conf/config`
if [ -n "$TIME_TO_SLEEP" -a -e "$TIME_TO_SLEEP" ] ; then
   TIME_TO_SLEEP="$TIME_TO_SLEEP"
elif [ -n "$TIME_TO_SLEEP" -a ! -e "$TIME_TO_SLEEP" ] ; then
   logger -t `basename $0` -s "TIME_TO_SLEEP ( $TIME_TO_SLEEP ) DOES NOT EXIST!"
   TIME_TO_SLEEP="600"

here's some output
Code: Select all
# grep SLEEP /conf/config
USB_POWER_OFF_DEEP_SLEEP='0'
SLEEPTIMER='ON'
TIME_TO_SLEEP='1800'
# /tmp/sleep/etc/init.d/S99sleeptimer restart
S99sleeptimer: TIME_TO_SLEEP ( 1800 ) DOES NOT EXIST!
ON

I can't say no to a brain teaser... :)

The problem is in this if statement:
Code: Select all
if [ -n "$TIME_TO_SLEEP" -a -e "$TIME_TO_SLEEP" ] ; then

According to "man test", -e tests for:
Code: Select all
       -e FILE
              FILE exists

Since 1800 is not a file, it returns false, so it executes the elif instead.

Most likely the error is due to a copy/paste problem - you took the code part from somewhere where you used to test for a file :ugeek:

mad_ady is right, you can simplify this a lot:

Code: Select all
eval `egrep 'TIME_TO_SLEEP' /conf/config`
if [ -z "$TIME_TO_SLEEP" -o "$TIME_TO_SLEEP" == "" ] ; then
   logger -t `basename $0` -s "TIME_TO_SLEEP ( $TIME_TO_SLEEP ) DOES NOT EXIST!"
   TIME_TO_SLEEP="600"
