Thank you very much for this program. I mounted a SAMBA share with my music using the net.mounts file and that worked just fine with this app.

My only suggestion is that when using the Database, selecting Genre should list all Artists in the Genre, then selecting an Artist will list all Albums and then finally selecting an Album should list the tracks available. Genre -> Artists -> Albums -> Track
Right now selecting Genre displays all tracks in that Genre, which for me is thousands of files.

first off, really cool app! Thank you for investing time in this!

I connect my ipod classic 120 to my wdtv and control the playlists through my phone. pretty neat! Although the browser on my computer does it way more smoother.

Thanks again! 8-)

Thanks for the appreciation!

@65c02: Thanks, I was planning to improve that part. Still have to thing the extact implementation. Probably it will be in the next version.

@Mormy: If you do not give details, it is difficult to know what the problem is for you.

If you want the most flexability than I would suggest giving the option of genre by artist or genre by track...
You never know how a user is going to organize the collection that appears on the WDTV. And of course there are artists that cover many genres. Neil Young for instance has albums that can be folk, others that can be rock, others that can be grunge, a few that are electronica, some are country, others that some may catagorized as Oldies ;O)

So what I am saying is that if you select say Grunge.. then you would only list Neil Young albums that may contain at least one track tagged as Grunge.. and when displaying those album's tracks only list those tracks tagged as Grunge. So in that case it would be easier to use a tracks by genre option... Now of course do you want to just then see all the tracks, or first display all the artists that have tracks tagged with your selected genre or just sort the tracks by artist.

You will find that people can get very "creative" with genres and "fussy" about their sort options ;O)

It stops playing the tracks in the playlist for me also. Sometimes it will go two or three tracks and then just stop, making me click on the next track to continue. Even stranger, this evening it would play one track and then start playing the last movie I watched :o . The movie doesn't appear in the playlist. Sorry I can't provide any more information than that, but if there's a log I can dig up, I'd be happy to post it.

Pals, I will be testing the app to see if I can reproduce the problem.
In very early versions, these random stops happened to me. That was one of the reasons why I started tweaking mozilla's code. I thoght that all those problems were solved with the thorough remodelling of the code that I did.
I will look at this again.

Make sure that you are not in the "immediate play" mode, which easily "empties" the playlist.

Martin

Sorry, I was far away for a while.
I feel noob but I don't know what it is "immediate play" mode. Usually I choose a directory, so I could listen an album and after a random number of song it stop playing. The play list is still full.
