I'm currently getting an error saying ERROR: read only file system, when i try to start a download, it begins but when it gets to about 2mb it stops and the error appears... Im using a file on my HDD that I've previously downloaded to and i have plugged it into my Mac to make sure it's read/write access and it is.

Not sure what is wrong or what else to try?

Is there any way via telnet that I can create a fresh directory on my Hard drive that is definitely going to work as a read write folder so I can download?

New day new update :)

Version 2.20b3 ready to download :) Remember this is BETA version.
Download from http://szkielkoioko.xsk.pl/transmission-2-20b3-dla-wdtv-live-mipsel/

This time I compile two versions. One is standard, second is compile with --enable--lightweight option (smaller cache size, prefer unencrypted peer connections etc.). Theoretically this lighweight version will be better and optimize for low resource systems like routers with ddwrt/openwrt or ours WDTV. Standard and lightweight version i tested on clear 0.4.5.3. If someone wants copy this to .rootFS, remember to copy new libevent library 2.0.so.5.

Changes:

All Platforms

* Remember downloaded files when a drive is unplugged
* File re-verification is no longer needed in some situations
* Fix „Too many open files” error
* Show the total downloading and seeding time per torrent
* Fix webseeds
* Better support for IPv6-only trackers
* Add the ability to shutdown Transmission sessions via RPC
* NAT-PMP and UPnP now also map the UDP port
* Update the DHT code to dht-0.18
* Faster parsing of bencoded data
* Improve support for running scripts when a torrent finishes downloading
* Fix reannounce interval when trackers return a 404 error
* Fix checksum error on platforms running uClibc 0.9.27 or older
* Fix memmem() errors on Solaris

Daemon

* Add „reannounce to tracker” option to transmission-remote
* transmission-remote can now read auth info from environment variables
* Fix configuration file bug with transmission-daemon running on Macs

Web Client

* Right-clicking a torrent now works with Firefox / Firegestures / Ubuntu

Utils

* Fix error when replacing substrings in tracker announce URLs
* Webseeds are now displayed in transmission-show

[quote="Jimble"One quick question. In the transmission gui, on the mac, there is an option to avoid bad peers or known snoops etc. It is an updatable list, it it possible to include this in app bin version?[/quote]

This list is included from 2.03 version :) Is in /config/blocklists/level1

In new version this list theoretically may be update automatically by Transmission. I check this later and if this work, i change this in transmission settings.

what filesystem you have on this disk? Try with ext3 - no problems with privileges (if so you can try chmod -R 775 on folder when you download), files bigger then 4gb and journalling

My Drive is formatted with the Mac OS Extended HFS...

I'm not sure why it has a problem writing to my folder. In the end I used an old rtorrent download folder that had been created when I used rtorrent in the past and this has been working for a few days now, it even survived a couple of power cycles so it's all good.

I'm going to give the beta a go as well.

Cheers

Hello
I'm using v.213 and my question is from where take transmission time?
I want to schedule temporary speed but it doesn't work.

Dzooky - for scheduling my transmission i use cron and simple cron script. First you must enable cron on wdtv, second create text file named root and copy/move them to your /conf folder. My root file is below:

Code: Select all
SHELL=/bin/sh
PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin
MAILTO=""
HOME=/

# poniedzialek tniemy o 16.00 (monday upload to 130KB/s at 04.00 pm)

00 16 * * 1 transmission-remote -n xxxxx:yyyyyy -u 130

# poniedzialek przywracamy up o 23 (monday upload to unlimited at 11.00 pm)

00 23 * * 1 transmission-remote -n xxxxx:yyyyyy -U

# wtorek tniemy up od 12 (tuesday upload to 130KB/s at 12.00 pm)

00 12 * * 2 transmission-remote -n xxxxxx:yyyyyyy -u 130

# wtorek przywracamy o 22 (tuesday upload to unlimited at 11.00 pm)

00 23 * * 2 transmission-remote -n xxxxx:yyyyyy -U

And for next days this is repeated

#ROZPAKOWYWANIE FILMOW (from 12.00pm to 10.00am, every 3 hours unpack films from transmission folder, download subs, convert to .srt and move to film folder)
0 24-10/3 * * * root /opt/napisy/trnt2film.sh

HFS is file system with privileges, try use chmod 775 for download folder under console in your Leopard/Snow Leopard.
