Hi,

I've been struggling with this miniDLNA app for the past couple of days. I cannot see any drives and unable to figure out the problem. I've read all the 18 pages in this thread and tried all the tips. I'm using the latest version of WDLXTV. The .conf file is pasted in the /conf directory and below is what it reads.

Code: Select all
port=8200
media_dir=/tmp/mnt/01CC1E0DE0CC8650/
media_dir=/tmp/mnt/7A59-A740/
friendly_name=WDLXTV MiniDLNA Server
db_dir=/tmp/minidlna
log_dir=/tmp/minidlna
log_level=general,artwork,database,inotify,scanner,metadata,http,ssdp,tivo=warn
album_art_names=Cover.jpg/cover.jpg/AlbumArtSmall.jpg/albumartsmall.jpg/AlbumArt.jpg/albumart.jpg/Album.jpg/album.jpg/Folder.jpg/folder.jpg/Thumb.jpg/thumb.jpg
inotify=no
enable_tivo=no
strict_dlna=no
notify_interval=900
serial=12345678
model_number=1
root_container=.

FOllowing is the log file

How often do we have to repeat that "latest version" means absolutely nothing to us?
Not to mention that there are at least 3 different latest versions...
1.02.21-Live-0.5.1.1
1.05.04-Live-0.5.1.1
1.05.04-Plus-0.5.1.1

and again 0.5.1.1 is not really latest version, at best it's latest public version, so please, please give us your complete firmware version (including base firmware version, Model and WDLXTV version)!

Thanks for the quick reply. I see 1.05.04-Live-0.5.1.1 on my web frontend. Hope that helps.

Try with just a single directory, with a single file at first. It's possible that you have a corrupted file somewhere that crashes MiniDLNA - its parser is quite fragile.

I feel like such an idiot. I had not enabled "Force MiniDLNA to rebuild db at start time". Ufffffff..

Working flawlessly now guys. Thanks for the suggestions.

Hello

fist, I want to thank Merlin and others for giving this cool app to us!

I bought the WDTVlive since I wanted a cheap media streaming solution :)

However,

I own an Muvid Internet Radio that can connect to the DLNA too. My problem is that I really would like the possibility to have a knot

"play all" in each folder.

See, when I browse to my top folder 80s or 60s I stumble of course over dozens of M.Jackson & Madonna folders since that is the way I have my Albums physically ordered. But sometime I would like just to listen to all.
Another one:
/Jazz/
/Jazz/easy/
/Jazz/trumpet/
.....

You get it.
Would be nice to listen to just all the music of a folder though of course in each several other subfolders sit (Artist/Album/whatever).

thanks alot

I would be very happy if you could tell if I can achieve that myself or if you could implement it!

This should rather be asked on a forum/site dealing with running/configuring MiniDLNA...

DLNA merely streams the media to the client based on what it gets requested. It's up to the client to organize those medias the way it sees fits as it sends requests to the DLNA server, one file at a time. DLNA server has no concept of folder or playlists. So, what you're looking for needs to be implemented in the client that sends the requests, not in the server that can't do anything about what is being played.

I didn't write MiniDLNA, I merely compiled and packaged it for WDLXTV.

It's possible that Twonky had a "smart playlist" feature, where it would group files by a certain criteria, and expose those files that way while browsing. That's not possible with MiniDLNA, it only provides basic DLNA services.
