To get the device mounted early you need to create an empty file .mnt in the root of the drive. This can easily be done in WEC (Main Tab, EarlyMounts).
It should then be mounted to /tmp/mnt/<UUID>.

Ok, I've done this. But it doesen't work at the shares which will be mounted per xmount. I've created one .mnt in every drive with media data.
Sadly, it only works for the usb drive, not for the xmounted shares....

Known issues
You CANNOT use a location in /tmp/media/usb/USB* if you expect this to start at boot. You MUST enable early mounting (.mnt) from the webend.

Yes, I know...

Is there any plan to update the app to version 1.0.24?

Thanks

MiniDLNA for WDLXTV 1.0.24 - 1.7 has been posted on my website as well as on the Addons Manager.

Changes from MiniDLNA 1.0.21 to 1.0.24 (by the MiniDLNA author):

Code: Select all
1.0.24 - Released 14-Feb-2012
--------------------------------
- Fix playlist browsing with no SortOrder specified.
- Fix inotify detection of caption file removal.
- Handle an empty DeviceID from Zyxel media player SOAP request.
- Fix false positives in playlist caching optimization when we have duplicate file names in different directories.
- Trim the camera model name extracted from EXIF tags.
- Add support for user-configurable log level settings.
- Add DLNA.ORG_FLAGS support.

1.0.23 - Released 23-Jan-2012
--------------------------------
- Enable the subtitle menu on some Samsung TV's.
- Add subtitle support for Panasonic TV's.
- Add workarounds for LifeTab tablets' bad behavior.
- Speed up playlist parsing.
- Make metadata-based virtual containers case insensitive.
- Add folder art support (very few clients support this though).
- Improve trimming of quotation marks.
- Fix SRT caption support with the latest Samsung Series D firmware.
- Fix subtitles on LG TV's for items whose titles don't have a dot in them.
- Add support for the av:mediaClass tag, so some Sony devices can filter items by media type.
- Fix inotify detection issues on first-level folders.
- Work around LifeTab's broken DLNA support.
- Add image rotation support during resize. (mostly useful for TiVo)

1.0.22 - Released 24-Aug-2011
--------------------------------
- Add bookmark support for some Samsung TV's.
- Fix a memory leak when certain model Samsung TV's or Roku devices are on the network.
- Fix detection of Samsung Series D models.
- Add WAV MIME workaround for Marantz Receivers and Roku SoundBridge.
- Fix bitrate displayed on Microsoft PFS devices.
- Fix a scanner crash when trying to scan image files with no read access.

Additional changes by me (WDLXTV build):

  • Statically linked with libogg and libvorbis, to fix issues with incorrectly built app.bin.
  • Statically linked libFLAC, as the version in WDLXTV is currently broken, causing MiniDLNA's scanner to crash when it runs into a FLAC file.

Hi,

I couldn't get the minidlna working. It works previously until I update the application to 1.0.24 using the webend. I got this message everytime I tried to start the minidlna

"Starting MiniDLNA...
/apps/minidlna/bin/minidlna: error while loading shared libraries: libavformat.so.52: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

I tried to locate the missing file in apps/minidlna/usr/lib folder and everywhere and I couldn't find it. I even tried to reinstall ffmpeg and still not working. Can anybody help me?

My system is running on 1.05 based 5.1.1 wdlxtv firmware. Thanks!

That's part of the ffmpeg.app.bin. Make sure it's properly installed, and preferably on the same drive.

Hey all,

First time poster/ fairly new user.
Thanks to RMerlin for the MiniDLNA.

Having a bit of trouble getting my Xbox to see my SMB: share on my NAS.
I have the DIR set in the config (latest miniDLNA) with the IP for my NAS. I have a password on the SHARE as well that is retained (normally in the WD but I was unclear where to put it in the DIR

looks like this
SMB://192.168.1.2/flicks

Xbox sees the Minidlna but no items listed.

You can't pass a smb:// URI to MiniDLNA. You will have to use xmount to mount it locally on the WDTV, and then use that mount point for MiniDLNA. The mount point will be located inside the /tmp/media/usb/ folder. The xmount should in theory be mounted in time for MiniDLNA to have access to it from what I saw in the code - the warning about not using /tmp/mnt/usb should only apply to local disks. You will have to try it to confirm it.

Your xmount will probably be something like this (put it in net.mounts, and save that file to a plugged USB drive):

Code: Select all
xmount "//192.168.1.2/flicks" "flicks" cifs "user=your_username,pass=your_password"

Then use /tmp/media/usb/flicks in MiniDLNA.
