This is the reason why 0.5.1.1 is not an official release: there are still some issues.
Post a bug report so we can keep track of this issue.

What does this return?
Code: Select all
ldconfig -p | grep apps

PS: This seems really odd, I just diffed all three versions of crazymount (which is resposible for loading app.bins and taking care of the libs)
and they are all identical. I tried 1.02 and 1.05 on Live and it works normal (latest SVN).
It may be an issue with the image, I haven't tested the plus ext3 image yet.

Maybe you should start by replacing your versio of crazymount with the one from SVN.

I remember at one point svn no longer worked for me, since libs search path wasn't properly updated or something. It's been a few months tho, si I forgot the details, but my guts tells me it might have been related to the Busybox update.

Using 1.05.04 version 0.5.1.1 and trying to use PPTP to setup a VPN tunnel. I understand that the profile supported here is only for Strong VPN and I was wondering if a profile for IbVPN could be created? I used this service on my PC and iPad. On the PC this required a .crt and .conf file and on the iPad I was only required to enter the VPN server IP and my account information.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi guys,

both links for pptp.app.bin are not working. Can you reactivate them or better tell me another download source?
The Problem is I cannot find this file anywhere else...

Thanks,

VPN

I think b-rad has one on his site. http://b-rad.cc/binaries/

I don't know anything about the version he has, but it should work.

There is also a working OpenVPN app available. It's not the latest version, but it's working.
Perhaps this might help you.

Moved on to the RaspberryPi + xbian (XBMC).
Thank you all for 2 great years and all your work to provide such fantastic firmware. Also a big thank you to the guys in the DD thread for all their ongoing support.
Good luck to all of you and perhaps we will see us in any Raspberry forum, cheers :-)

@ spazlon

I tried pptp.app.bin and I set up everything, so it shows me in the webend interface under daemon plugins my pptp button in green and I also checked by sshing that my wdtx box got assigned successfully a IP and DNS adress from my vpn provider. But since now, when I am using the device, it is randomly freezing and the youtube function didn't work at all like there is no internet connection. This is really strange...

Regards,

VPN.

What are you trying to use the VPN for? Is it just to watch Netflix?

Are you using StrongVPN?

Do you have any network connectivity? SSH into the box and try to ping something. It sounds like the VPN isn't connecting correctly.

No, I want to acess content on youtube that is blocked in my country.

No, I am using Blackvpn (www.blackvpn.com), but the only difference is that blackvpn is using FQDN (vpn.blackvpn.com) instead of DNS IP and Server IP, but I contacted them and they gave me all their DNS and Server IPs, so that I just assigned them to the config file via webend according to the "how to connect by pptp" tutorial at the wdlxtv wiki.

Yes I SSHed and I could not ping anything...timed out...but as I say, I get an IP from my vpn server and also the DNS IP etc. And I know from a close friend that blackvpn is working reliable...
