Ok, I'm glad to hear it works for plus. I'll need to see why it doesn't work on live. :)

Edit: It should work on the live as well. It was a problem with my system missing some symlinks from svn update.
Good news is that app.bins are mounted and should work (tested mc, devtools). Some utilities will fail because of missing dependencies.

NFS and CIFS xmounts also seem to work. Could also work at startup (from /conf/net.mounts).

Here is my results from testing xmounts in 1.06 svn build 105:

Code: Select all
# showmount -e 192.168.1.10
-sh: showmount: not found
# xmount 192.168.1.10:/Movies Movies nfs
xmount: xmounted 192.168.1.10:/Movies Movies nfs soft, intr,ro
# mount
... lots omitted ...
192.168.1.10:/Movies on /tmp/media/usb/Movies type nfs (ro,vers=3,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,soft,intr,proto=tcp,timeo=70,retrans=3,sec=sys,addr=192.168.1.10)

But no "Movies" shows up under the Video -> Local Disk, it does of course show the CIFS/Samba shares.

I also tried echo'ing the xmount statement to /conf/net.mounts and restarted, but same thing, no "Movies" show up under Local Disk, but this did work under 1.05.

One other observation, after restarting to prove my config was working still in 1.05, I noted that conf/net.mounts was updated (replaced) with the info that I was using under 1.06 to test, and I don't recall making the change in 1.05, but it seemed to have "trickled down"... Not sure if I'm dreaming or not, but wanted to let you know.

Thanks for the feedback, Red! I only do my tests over ssh. The development box doesn't have video out - hence I need you all to be my eyes :)

I will look into why the xmounts are not visible in the osd.

Also, the files under /conf are shared by all firmwares, so the behavior is normal.

I think I will try to get a Plus on ebay... a recent donation well used I think.

Although I'm afraid most of the advertised Live Plus on german ebay are really just Live's because when it came out there was no netflix in Germany... so they are more than rare here I guess.

A plus would be nice to have, but not 100% necessary. The plus firmware should run from a Live as ext3boot.

I know, but I think it would be nice to test flash fw before releasing... 8-)

But I think I was right with Plus on german ebay, all sellers I asked for confirmation on model number, told me it's a Live... I'll keep on searching...

Right - I forgot about flashing... We'll need to squeeze everything in before attempting flash...

The more I think about it the more I doubt that Plus ever hit the European market, netflix only supported netflix US... it wouldn't make sense to sell it in Europe.

Ok, I added some more commits to the 1.06 branch:

WDLXTV custom Samba startup script
WDLXTV OSD startup scripts
save YouTube API keys
add net.mounts init.d script
init.d to raise IP
init.d script to mount /conf/fstab
WDLXTV Census init.d
custom graphic (background/screensaver) and translation loader init.d script
update / fix NTP service
include wdlxtv.watch and its utility scripts, to manage umounting of officiallly mounted devices, media library visibility, number of video/general thumbs, number of list items and regeneration of Samba and NFS exports

Kindly see if I broke anything, or if xmounts started to magically work :)

Slow day at work so I managed to crawl my way up to the original rev 80 from 1.05 branch:

include unionfs
include linksheets to enable moviesheets (rev 60) + add /msheets so linksheets might have a shot at working (rev 180)
scripts to force USB bus power off/on
stops all init.d's in preperation for reboot/shutdown
starts up all init.d's which were stopped by suspend
WDLXTV custom reboot script
Restore busybox after a bad svn commit that wiped it -- sorry!
power status monitor runs POWER_EVENTS and makes call to shut down USB bus power if enabled.
enables access via /etc/hosts.allow for use in remote NFS export mounting
include full wget
include CIFS interceptor
include full versions of cp & mv [1/2]
include full versions of cp & mv [2/2]
utility to display max number of thumbs in use for current OSD pages
utility to pregenerate system thumbnails
utility to control leds
detects drivers of attached & supported wireless devices
include upnp utilities
include FUSE filesystem binaries for mounting of DVD filesystems, remote FTP servers, remote SSH servers, and two flavours of archive unpackers
scripts to detect when online, and to restart critical services when device goes online
include libfuse for FUSE filesystem binaries
include DVD libraries for dvdfs
include libmagic for unpackfs

So, notable things include linksheets, cifs-interceptor, usb poweroff. See if any of those work.

So far I was able to add about a night's worth of b-rad's original work. Took me only two months :D We'll see how the rest goes, but there's no turning back
Sorry for the misinformation. I need to get to revision 132 to complete b-rad's first day of porting wdlxtv to 1.05.
