Hello,

Could you tell me the configure options for AVRemote please?

I try to compile with the following;

./configure --host=mipsel-linux CC=mipsel-linux-gcc CXX=mipsel-linux-g++

But, When I run the executable on WD;

./avremote: line 1: syntax error: "(" unexpected

There is something related to cross compilation but I couldn't see it..

Hi,

I work on project in DLNA platform.

For my first test i have
Code: Select all
~$ avremote
Performing upnp discovery...
upnp:rootdevice   http://10.226.174.62:60647/   10.226.174.62   60647
upnp:rootdevice   http://10.226.174.62:52823/DeviceDescription.xml   10.226.174.62   52823

60647 is a Media Renderer and 528623 is a Media Server.

I want play a video on a Media Renderer from the Media Server.

I tried many things, but didn't work.

What are steps of commandline for do this?

Just an other question the option "REPEAT_ONE", repeat just one time the file or all time ?

Thanks for yours answers.

1. The media server you are seeing is probably UMSP server on WDLXTV. To use this from a device other than the WDTV itself (127.0.0.1) you need UMSP_LAN patch (only available in SVN !).
2. Are you tring to write your own DLNA Controler or is this about using avremote?
3. I think REPEAT_ONE is repeat one file forever but I'm not 100% certain, though it's the only thing that makes ense since you can play only single files with DLNA on WDTV.

Hello, Thanks for great tools. Looks like what I'm looking for.

I have couple of questions about how to using avremote.

What I'm trying to do is playing file or list to TV. If possible, start from specific position.

Code: Select all
~ $ avremote
Performing upnp discovery...
upnp:rootdevice http://192.168.219.7:58645/dev/9bcc090a-f72b-dadc-0000-00002a4be90c/desc.xml    192.168.219.7   58645
upnp:rootdevice http://192.168.219.7:58645/dev/9bcc090a-f72b-dadc-ffff-ffff85fe2c02/desc.xml    192.168.219.7   58645
upnp:rootdevice http://192.168.219.6:7676/smp_10_   192.168.219.6   7676
upnp:rootdevice http://192.168.219.6:7676/smp_2_    192.168.219.6   7676
upnp:rootdevice http://192.168.219.2:8200/rootDesc.xml  192.168.219.2   8200

  • 219.7 : My phone, running BubbleUPNP as remote controller. But it
    has couple of problems. That's why I'm looking for upnp tools like
    avremote.
  • 219.6 : Samsung TV, as media renderer
  • 219.2 : Desktop, as media server, running minidlna in Arch Linux.

I'v tried like this,

Code: Select all
[code]~ $ avremote -s 192.168.219.6 -p 7676 ~/Downloads/Some\ TV\ Show/S01E01.mkv
warning: command not recognized, loading and playing as url

~ $ avremote -s 192.168.219.6 -p 7676 ~/Downloads/Some\ TV\ Show/S01E01.mkv -t
dry run: printint out rendered upnp message without establishing connection
warning: command not recognized, loading and playing as url

</u:Play>
</s:Body>
</s:Envelope>

~ $

How can I ask to TV to play file from Desktop's minidlna server? I already do this using BubbleUPNP in my phone. But I have no idea how can I do this using avremote. There is also subtitle. It should be served together.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks.

I haven't used avremote, so I can't help you directly but you could do a packet capture between your phone and TV (assuming you have the ability) to see what DLNA messages get exchanged (they will be XML).

Regarding subtitles, I know that there are some proprietary extensions (for samsung) that encode the subtitle path in a property in the xml, but I'm not sure it is supported by most tools. If the subtitle is embedded into the file (e.g. mkv), then it's all good.
