Hello juliojs,

It is only Telnet? I disabled my Telnet and only using SSH.

I tried to connect it but the error message is that Telnet is disabled. Anything I can change to switch it to SSH?

Thanks!

Hi!

By now it only works with TELNET, I'll try to add SSH support in the future but it isn't a priority for me. I think the security advantages of SSH are not esential right now.

Thanks for the quick reply! Alright.. Just checking since I disabled Telnet on my WDTV-Live and got an error when trying to connect. =)

Btw, is it hard to put up this Android app? Thought of meddling around with programming Android apps but never really got around to it.

Nice App!! Any chance of porting it to Windows Phone 7?!?

If not, any chance of releasing the source code so others can have a go?

Anyway, worth asking, thanks,
Tek

Not really, is bassically Java so if you have experience you only have to adapt yourself to the SDK and there are a lot tutos on the web... Also the upload process is extremely easy, you can put an app on the market in 5 minutes...

C&P from the first page:
juliojs wrote:I'm sorry, but by the moment it will be only available for Android. In the future I'll think about port it to other mobile OS or release the code, but iOS it's not planned due to disagreements on SDK and AppStore license.
Anyway, someone is developing a similar app for iOS: http://forum.wdlxtv.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1446

Thanks!

PS: I'm working on the new version wich includes some of the requested features, I hope to release it before Xmas...

This looks great but would you consider enabling it to use 3G rather then wifi? My phone can not use my wifi because my wifi is set to Wireless N and the Moto Backflip can not connect to Wireless N but this seems like a nice addition to my android phone.

Now that I have a Nexus One I guess I should give this a try sometime ;)

Xplorer: 3G connects to the WAN, outside your LAN, therefore it wouldn't be able to reach your WDTV, unless you configured you router to forward the ports, and knew your WAN IP (which is most likely dynamic).

EDIT: juliojs, just a minor suggestion: when proposing the default device IP, look what the phone IP address and netmask are (assuming that's possible), and use that to build the default IP you propose. So if, for example, someone's network is 10.0.0.0/8, then the default suggested IP would be 10.0.0.1.

I'll do some testing with it over the next couple of days :)
