No network with r8712u - Possible error in net.agent

Postby CrazyFrog » Wed May 25, 2011 5:06 am

Hi,

I'm trying to get an USB wifi adapter to work with WDLXTV G2; after some debugging using the ext3-boot version I think I found the cause of the problem: For some reason (bad driver maybe) the iwpriv calls in net.agent are failing with "Invalid command: set". I think, better, I hope this calls can be modified to use iwconfig but help from someone more skilled in wdlxtv would be very usefull.

The relevant part of the script with my changes:

Code: Select all
iwpriv -a $INTERFACE 2>&1 | logger -t net.agent

iwpriv $INTERFACE set NetworkType=Infra  2>&1 | logger -t net.agent
iwpriv $INTERFACE set AuthMode=$AUTHMODE 2>&1 | logger -t net.agent
iwpriv $INTERFACE set EncrypType=$ENCRYPTION_TYPE 2>&1 | logger -t net.agent
iwpriv $INTERFACE set "SSID=$SSID" 2>&1 | logger -t net.agent
iwpriv $INTERFACE set "WPAPSK=$ENCRYPTION_KEY" 2>&1 | logger -t net.agent
iwpriv $INTERFACE set "SSID=$SSID" 2>&1 | logger -t net.agent

logger -t net.agent "iwpriv $INTERFACE set NetworkType=Infra"
logger -t net.agent "iwpriv $INTERFACE set AuthMode=$AUTHMODE"
logger -t net.agent "iwpriv $INTERFACE set EncrypType=$ENCRYPTION_TYPE"
logger -t net.agent "iwpriv $INTERFACE set \"SSID=$SSID\""
logger -t net.agent "iwpriv $INTERFACE set \"WPAPSK=$ENCRYPTION_KEY\""
logger -t net.agent "iwpriv $INTERFACE set \"SSID=$SSID\""

And the log entries after booting with the modified image:
