That wouldn't really do much, since I posted it from my options file already.
But thanks anyway ;).

So, does that mean that you're using a central moviesheet repository then? (as opposed to each sheet within the movie's folder)

It would help me out greatly if you could write an example of how your folders look (as in my example above) if you have it working correctly.

Thanks man, I'd appreciate that a lot.

Movies
- Avatar
-- Avatar.mkv
-- Avatar.mkv_sheet.jpg (Folder Sheet)
-- Avatar_sheet.jpg ( File Sheet)
-- folder.jpg

That's it. i have a std sheet with the cover trickle covers for the folders and if i go into a movie a fanart sheet with the text to press "enter" to watch etc.

Cheers

OK, thanks a lot for your help Schenk. I updated the firmware to 0.4.5.1 and they actually display now.
So it turns out it was a problem with the firmware 0.4.5.0.
They display huge despite the sheets being the same size as the screen resolution, but I'll look into it to fix that as soon as I can, but at least they're showing up now.
Thanks to all who replied for your help.

Actually, this is not solved.
Whilst it displayed the sheets once, it continues to be a problem as it only occasionally decides to display the sheets, when it does it breaks them up to show a zoomed in version of the sheet split down the middle. Very odd.
I guess this may be one of the "oddities" which is mentioned in the options file when switching modes. But I'm not switching modes, just trying to get standard mode working.
Anyone have any other suggestions please???

I have the same issue with the new version 1.01.77_WDLXTV.COM_WDLXTV_G2-0.4.5.1, I cant make the movie sheet appears at all in the Std mode, also when telnet the box and use config_tool -c MSHEETMODE=std the power light blinks for ever and nothing appears. Also using the same command forces video thumb view back to 163x245?!

Here is my S00custom-options:

config_tool -c LINKSHEETS=ON
config_tool -c MSHEETMODE=std
config_tool -c VIDMSHEET=ON
config_tool -c GENMSHEET=ON
config_tool -c LISTMSHEET=ON
config_tool -c AUTORES=ON
config_tool -c THUMBRESO=180x240

I use the following naming convention im my +1600 Movies:
Folder: Inception (2010)
+--> backdrop.jpg
+--> cover.jpg
+--> folder.jpg
+--> Inception.mkv
+--> Movie_Info.xml
+--> wd_tv.jpg

Hi, I have the WDTV gen2 with firmware 0.4.5.1, I only use moviesheets not the web and it works, this is my configuration:

In the file S00custom-options, add this lines:

config_tool -c LINKSHEETS=ON
config_tool -c SHOW_FILESIZE_SETTING=0

Select this lines:

config_tool -c MSHEETMODE=std
config_tool -c VIDMSHEET=ON
config_tool -c GENMSHEET=ON
config_tool -c LISTMSHEET=ON

In the folder (Example with avatar) :

Avatar (folder)
/Avatar.mkv
/Avatar.mkv.jpg
/Avatar.mkv_sheet.std.jpg

Delete the file ".wd_tv" at the root of your disk.

Now I unplug the wdtv and I plug it again.
Turn on I wait. (for me my tv turn off automatically when i do this so I have to turn on when the loading is over).
When you are in the menu of the wdtv you can wait 2 mn sometimes before it works but wait and you'll see the moviesheets.

When it works you don't need to unplugged anymore the wdtv even when you add some movies.

I hope it's gonna help you. Sorry for my english I hope it's clear.

I did all thath and nothing...
i add
config_tool -c LINKSHEETS=ON
config_tool -c SHOW_FILESIZE_SETTING=0

at the end of S00custom-options...is that ok?

My S00custom-options looks like this:
Code: Select all
## change background image between 3 stock options, or arbitrary location
## background image **CAN NOT** be larger than 512KB
##
## the following three images are included in the firmware
## original background:
#config_tool -c BACKGROUND_IMAGE=original_bg.jpg
## eM82's backdrop background:
#config_tool -c BACKGROUND_IMAGE=eM82_bg.jpg
## wood panel (default) background:
#config_tool -c BACKGROUND_IMAGE=villa_bg.jpg
##
## To set an absolute location:
config_tool -c BACKGROUND_IMAGE=/tmp/mnt/123ed956-1256-4825-9e79-86fc1e0febaa/random/location.jpg
##
## You can also supply an image, on an attached device at boot (like S00custom-options),
## which is 1280x720 and *NO* larger than 512KB named villa_bg.jpg and it will be used as the custom background
## *ONLY* villa_bg.jpg will work in this method, and *you may remove the device if you desire* after the background has been loaded
##

## change screen saver image between wdlxtv & original WD logo's, or arbitrary location
##
## wdlxtv logo
#config_tool -c SCREEN_SAVER_IMAGE=screen_saver.png
## original WD logo
#config_tool -c SCREEN_SAVER_IMAGE=screen_saver.orig.png
## some random location (absolute)
config_tool -c SCREEN_SAVER_IMAGE=/tmp/mnt/123ed956-1256-4825-9e79-86fc1e0febaa/some/random/screensaver-image.png
##
## You can also supply an image, on an attached device at boot (like S00custom-options),
## which is *NO* larger than 512KB named screen_saver.png and it will be used as the custom screen saver image
## *ONLY* screen_saver.png will work in this method, and *you may remove the device if you desire* after screen_saver.png has been loaded
##

## Movie sheet modes (only one can be enabled at a time)
## unless you have sheets for each mode you will encounter oddities switching around modes
## AKA this isn't magic
##   Full screen std mode:
config_tool -c MSHEETMODE=std
##   1280x460 (horizontal banner at top) sheet mode:
#config_tool -c MSHEETMODE=sheet
##   500x720 (vertical banner on right) wall mode:
#config_tool -c MSHEETMODE=wall

## turn on moviesheets for a list type  (ON/OFF)
## you must turn it on for a view type to see sheets!
##   video thumb mode
config_tool -c VIDMSHEET=ON
##   audio/photo thumb mode
config_tool -c GENMSHEET=ON
##   list mode (video/audio/photo)
config_tool -c LISTMSHEET=ON

## enable a central moviesheet repository
## allows all moviesheets to exist in one location
#config_tool -c MSHEETDIR=/tmp/media/usb/someWhere

## enable auto framerate/resolution functionality
#### keeps OSD at menu selected resolution,
#### but changes to suit every viewed video
#### also downmixes multi-channel AAC -> stereo, so that it plays on the wdtv
## to customize settings edit /conf/autores.conf
config_tool -c AUTORES=ON

## enable forced-HDMI resolutions instead of highest compatible EDID
#### this setting is for displays who have bad EDID
#### or whose display has hidden resolutions not in the EDID
## **** this setting should not be dangerous, but still be careful ****
#config_tool -c FORCEHDMI=ON
