WDLXTV-G2-0.4.5.1 discussion thread

Postby b-rad.cc » Fri Dec 24, 2010 7:42 pm

A lot of time was put into 0.4.5.1. The DTS downmix bug ran me in circles and in the end it turned out to be stupidly simple--G2 had started using the player from live firmwares so G2 could get WMAPro support. Well the G2 player did not check hw cert for DTS downmix ability, but the live version did, and since the G2 apparently has no cert id it fails. I also made sure that the two adapters I have handy, an asix adapter & an RT3072 dongle, both work with network-device-detector. RT chipsets were failing in 0.4.5.0 due to missing dat file...then I finished off the network device IP up by fixing WEP connections. *hopefully* it all works now.

A lot of other bugs were found and fixed too ;)

Fixed the changing of new background image issue just fine.
I do not use any other options,i do not understand them yet.
Your version sure loads my 4 - 1GB USB drives fast, i have over 3,000 movies on them, takes only about 10 - 15 seconds.

Thanks.

Hi all!
Can somebody tell me why i have small picture when playing movies? Maybe i must do something with these?

## enable auto framerate/resolution functionality
#### keeps OSD at menu selected resolution,
#### but changes to suit every viewed video
#### also downmixes multi-channel AAC -> stereo, so that it plays on the wdtv
## to customize settings edit /conf/autores.conf
config_tool -c AUTORES=ON

## enable forced-HDMI resolutions instead of highest compatible EDID
#### this setting is for displays who have bad EDID
#### or whose display has hidden resolutions not in the EDID
## **** this setting should not be dangerous, but still be careful ****
#config_tool -c FORCEHDMI=ON

## enable auto-zoom overscan fix
#### this setting zooms out automatically the
#### number of times below, when videos are played
#config_tool -c DEFAULT_ZOOM=1

Try disabling AUTORES and see what happens.

Same thing as "Remove Safely" under Windows: it ensures that the WDTV isn't writing to the disk before allowing you to safely unplug it.
